[QUOTE=talwell;390754]I had expressed interest in this car when it was for sale the last time. So glad I did not purchase it based on what I see in the pictures you posted.
Unfortunately the buyer paid alot of money for a shell with wheels on it. It seems that is just about all that will be left once he is done and starts the rebuild. Once completed I am sure he will have a spectacular car but the pricetag will be way above what it should be based on what he paid for the car that turned out to be an abortion.[/
No kidding I paid a lot for it. No one else deserved to get stuck with this car. We are going to build it right and then drive the wheels off it......Although we could have drove the wheels off it without spending a lot more money. Between missing bolts and loose bolts the car was about to fall apart.
You have the right idea - glad you are not bitter about your purchase. Nothing you can do but turn bad into good on this one.
It is a shame that people waste all the right parts and a good car and just not do things right. When I talked to the seller he made it out to be a showroom car that was built to the highest level of quality. Either he had no idea as that is what he was told when he bought it or he just felt he needed to sell it that way to recover his losses as well.
I build late model powered 69 Camaros all the time. You will have a great toy when you are done.
Here is a dyno video of the latest one we are finishing up. Very mild LS2 T56 setup pushing about 450rwhp.
i HATE ebay when it comes to buying cars. We went through the same thing here- A "perfect" '69 Camaro out of Lousiana- I guess there was a reason he had zero feedback. I asked him what the car needed. He said "it's perfect". The car that showed up was a mess. So if you need a "Perfect" '69 Camaro with an L88 for 40K my client has one. We moved on to a cleaner body
lesson learned- go see the car for myself and don't trust a person's word no matter how nice they sound
The Red car we finished was a 35K ebay mistake.
sorry for the hijack- It will be a cool car when you're done. How's the convert coming?
Take care- Chris

Its been 98% done for almost a year. Its bone stock numbers matching and I hate it. Put 90 miles on it last year and if I don't sell it soon will have the same fate and this one.
