It needs to be BIGGER. I have no idea how big it is I just know from past expirence with everyone I know including myself - you need to make it bigger. Example my friend has a 60x40 and he had to add 12" more to the 60" side. Maybe you can make the house smaller to gain more space..........

Lots of enclosed storage cabinets, etc. Keeps everything clean when your making a mess.

Gotta agree with Charlie on the Plasma/TV setup. Fridge, shop wash sink with hot and cold water, Heat, A/C, insulated walls, and LOTS of outlets preferrably retractable drop extension cords.

-30x50 garage w/ attached 30x30 carport w/ 16x80 attic
-single bay is 2 cars deep w/ 10x10 paint/finish/clean room behind the 2nd car
no electrical switches/outlets in finish room. lights are recessed above plexiglass. unsure how i want to vent the room yet.
-behind the double bay is a 35x20 workshop.
-behind the garage is the carport
-attic space above will be storage & eventually a couple of bedrooms
-walls are 10' tall to allow room to maneuver 8' lumber & add 2post car lift. added extra 4" of footing under pad for car lift.
-plumbing for air tools throughout
-air compressor & vacuum system for wood tools are enclosed under stairway so i don't have to hear them.
-lots of lighting

Trev, I think I've mentioned my favorite garage web site here before:

www.garagejunkies.net

Lot's of ideas there.

I made provisions in my garage for a 2-post lift. I have 10 foot side walls but added scissor trusses in one bay. That stall has 13 1/3 feet of clearance to the ceiling (in the center).

Plan ahead for floor covering. If you want to epoxy the floor eventually it's a good idea to put down a vapor barrier under the slab.

Tom
