I ended up getting this one - 23 3/4" lift:
http://www.harborfreight.com/2-ton-l...ump-68050.html

A friend of mine has this one - 29" hieght:

The harbor frieght one is 129 and the AC hydraulics Is 549 -- the harbor frieght has served me well so far.

I have that AC Hydraulics one. I've had it for years, when they were a bit cheaper. Heavy SOB, but it would actually get under the low car that I've had (except for a C6, so I drove it up onto 2x10's for a little extra clearance before jacking). It's not cheap, but a great jack!

I bought one of the low profile HF ones....it works fine....but sometimes the height is an issue....I jack it up, put it on jackstands,,,,drop the jack, then put a block of wood on the jack and lift it up more....it s PITA sometimes if I need the car high.

The reach is not great either.....its the lowest jack I could find....but once you sink it under the car, sometimes you can only jack the handle 5-6 inches for awhile before the car body moves up enough for you to have more throw on the handle

Thanks for all the great feedback! I have been using the Alcan XL35R at the TechShop the past few weeks and I love it. Great hydraulics, nice low pro design, and the bump pad a is major paint saver ;-) Bummer I can't find it at a local Costco. Buying online will cost ~$90 in freight. Anyone seen this jack in their local NorCal Costco?

Cheers!
