Ummm....... Well, a couple times smoking the tires thru an intersection with Johnny across the street and me not seeing him. But the best had to be one night some of us were out up to no good and ripping around at the street races (shhh, don't say it very loud cause nobody around here has done it before and I'll be ridiculed for being careless!!). Well a buddy and I pulled up to a light and I looked around and didn't see any po po's and it was a nice stretch ahead of us with the only traffic behind us. Which some of that traffic was a 10 sec monte and a 11 sec nova. Well the light turns and we hammer it and get out there about 800' or so and there is the discos behind us (a ways back)! I coast down and pull over, my buddy takes off. Johnny walks up and says "do you know that guy." I say I've seen him round. He says "he's gonna have a really bad night cause we got his license number,". He then proceeds to shine the flashlight onto the windshield and says "see that?". I have no idea what he's talking about and say huh!?!? He says "the mirror, use it more often, I was right behind you!" and laughs! Then he says "that little import was beatin ya pretty bad wasn't he?!?" I sigh and say yes, that thing runs hard!! (it was before I had my turbos and was against my buddies big turbod AWD Talon). I got only an "exhibition of speed" ticket cause they were cool and my buddy took off!
My buddy called me just a little later and said to pick him up at his work and take him home. I did cause he left his car there. The po po showed up at his house at about 3am and threatened to haul him to jail but his wife (yes, we were old enough to know better! LOL!) was balling and begging them not to and since he LIED and said he was at work and that is where his car had been and it wasn't in the house. They were pissed and left but gave him a handful of tickets.
The bad part is I had to pay a layer to get my ticket down to a non moving violation and get on probation. He went to court and the cop didn't show up and he got it dropped!!! Scumbag!!! LOL!

Those of you how have lived in OK or the surrounding states should remember the signs just as you enter OK saying'watch your speed we are' then the cost of the fines for the speed.

Well I was driving thru OK and was pulled over for excessive speed and the officer asked 'why I was going so fast' and my reply was 'that was all I could afford',needless to say i received the ticket but the look on his face when i said that, was worth the fine.

I have other to but they will date me more.STan

Last summer the wife and I were heading down to Portland via I-5 in our charcoal grey Mercedes c350, traffic was pretty thick, speed limit was 60 and everyone was puttering around that 55-60 mph range. I was in the fast lane behind some car doing around 55 and getting frustrated as there was no one really in front of him but could not get around him he was beside a car doing about the same speed. After a few mile I saw my chance to move to the right and then back into the fast lane before running into the guy in front of me. Just as I was moving back into the fast lane there was a state trooper in the meridian w/radar, I looked down and was at 88mph, shiiiiit, what timing, looked in the rear view mirror saw the trooper was trying to pull out but was waiting on traffic so I told the wife to pull out the registration from the glove box and get ready. I proceeded to move two lanes over to the right into the slow lane so it was easier to stop on the shoulder. I could see the trooper coming w/his lights on and my lane was doing just over 50 mph. There was a trucker just to my left as I was half way up my quarter on him, the trooper still in the fast lane came up a long side still over in the fast lane slowed down, crept by us, then pass the trucker and darted over into the slow lane just ahead of me and pulled over the car in front of me. It was a charcoal grey bmw that was in the slow lane the whole time. Stater got the wrong car, I can just hear the guys in the bmw, whatdaya mean 80, I haven't been above 55, Stater: yeah, you know how often I get that I should of went and bought a lottery ticket

Officer, I just installed a new carb and am trying to get it dialed in.

Works almost every time.

Back in 1976 it did work...I was doing about 120 when I looked in the rear view mirror...One solid red light and one blinking light on a CHP BIKE...

He was about a quarter mile back. I pulled over right away..

He said he was glad I stopped because he radioed ahead and no one was available to help him...

I told him I needed some open road to test my car at hi RPM's due to carb tuning...

He clocked me at 110 and wrote me for 80...But it was 1976...Now days I bet it would be Impound and jail.

I think he enjoyed being able to open up his Bike. He looked happy...I didn't..
