I cant imagine a whole lot of difference between brands with each company basically being able to access the same apps as each other all through the same means(internet, satelites, etc...)
We(the fam) went with an AT&T group rate so the phones were free only I paid extra for the S model and my son paid extra for the I Phone 5 but he's going to sell his 4 to cover that.
The nice thing is that it is a very competitive market right now so the deals are out there.
