Default Speed Tech Shop Project: Down Under 69

Hey all-

Just wanted to start a thread on a car we're working on here at Speed Tech Performance. This 69 Camaro hails from Austrailia and came to us in a pretty rough state.

First order of business was designing the car, my first design/ rendering project with Speed Tech since joining their crew. For this project we're not looking to reinvent the wheel with radical body changes and add-ons. This one will be more smooth and subtle with some minor body mods and more focus on paint scheme and interior to stand out from the crowd.

Although it had new rear 1/4s before it got to us, upon tear down we found lots of rust and a very beat up firewall which had been covered over with flat sheet metal. Unfortunately media blasting revealed even more rust. Here's the freshly blasted shell.

Since this shot we've replaced the roof inner structure and outer skin, shaved and formed the drip rail area, and built a completely new firewall.

As we move along the car will be getting our full pro-touring front sub frame and suspension package with a dual quad 572 nestled between the frame rails. The engine bay will have a cool twist on the overall paint scheme including of course a color matched engine. More coming soon...

Thanks guys. This car hails from the western side. We're working on mounts and such on the firewall and will post up pics when it's all worked out.

Lots going on in the shop, including the wheels for the Camaro were delivered recently. Fronts are 19x9.5s and rears are 20x12s. Here's a couple shots of the back wheel. Nice DEEP lip and take look at this spoke color! Plans are to carry this theme throughout the car. More coming soon...
