Not sure of my opinion yet. The last GT looked so much like the original GT40 that you couldn't dislike it. This one is edgy & with an EcoBoost V-6.
Edgy is right.
Don't like the looks or the V6 "twin turbo". Like others have posted earlier,...they should have had an option if you wanted the V8. Same goes for the 2016/2017 Raptor. I LOVE the way the Raptor looks, but a V6?!? No thanks.
I read an article yesterday saying that because of EPA and CAFE standards Ford's lineup will be v8 free by like 2018. Including all trucks and top of the line Mustangs as well.
Don't blame Ford. Blame the out of control EPA/government.
The flat plane v8 would be cool but the 3.5 ecoboost is probably a better choice from a performance/weight standpoint. It is supposed to have over 600hp and the smaller engine I am sure lent itself to better packaging in the overall design. If the headers are properly configured it could still have a very mean exhaust note. My guess is that with simple tunes these things will be putting 700-800 to the wheels no problem. I am glad they skipped all the gimmicky hybrid crap and just went for a proper rear drive, mid engine platform. Keep it light and powerful. If is it around $150k it will be a bargain.
