Was posted on Jalopnik, but they didn't include the pic of the thief in the truck.

Really really hope they catch these clowns.

So I'm curious and trying to gather info and knowledge to help avoid my cars and trailers from getting stolen.
How did the get the truck unlocked and started?
Was it unlocked with the keys in it?

He lives about 5 minutes from me. Just saw this on the news. They interviewed the owner and he said that he did not have insurance because he couldn't afford the expense of it? He's gotta have some sort of insurance Id hope

This is San Ramon. I wouldn't doubt that it was left unlocked with the windows down. Residential crime is rare. Yes stuff happens everywhere but Im sure this guy was followed home after a race day.

Is that a tattoo I'm seeing on the guys arm? If so, with photo enhancement, the tattoo artist could help identify. Tattoo artists are very proud of their own work, and around these parts, work closely with authorities when there is a crime committed. This makes me sick to my stomach!
Check out this device fellers...it could easily be me, or you next...

Unfortunately, Ford Super Duty pickups are stupid-easy to steal. They nearly got mine with just a screwdriver. One tumbler in the column kept em occupied until they were interrupted.

Accelerating is optional...........stopping is mandatory. Your car WILL stop one way or another.

I feel bad for the guy but how can you honestly tell me that insurance is too expensive. If you can sink $100,000 into a race car and recently spend $10,000 on your motor than you can surely come up with money for insurance. If I couldn't afford to insure my car after spending that kind of money on it I would be sleeping in it every night with my gun next to me. I hope he gets his car back in one piece.
