Lateral-g Project S-Curve renderings

Just wanted to say thanks to Jason and Ben for the great work they provided once again... Both concepts are strong, and offer a lot of great ideas for the project!

As Ben pointed out, the three of us wanted to present ideas that were "all over the board", yet keep the same general concept in mind, so as to offer a number of ideas that could be applied between any of the designs, and I think we've accomplished that.

Ben's offering has a really clean look, and gives some serious subtlety as icing on the cake. The car has a true "coachbuilt" feel, and oozes quality throughout. The cool, soft color is a great choice for the Cutlass' lines, and that stripe plays up the sporty nature of the build. The unique exhaust exits are so slick, and with them up as high as they are, they almost make the rear of the car appear streamlined, and attract attention to the huge meats... Well done!

Jason's design pays homage to the legacy of Olds muscle, and his use of the classic black and gold paint scheme was a great idea! The color-keyed wheels and that oh-so-right stance balance the car somewhere between corner-carving and light-to-light street terror. The W-30 hood always looks great, and, in my opinion, really does wonders for the car.

On my design, I opted to keep things fairly simple, aiming to make the most bang for as little cash, visually (saving money for the drivetrain and suspension). Having a thing for green cars (and green Olds' in particular), I went with the two-tone green sage paint, broken up with a simple graphic that invokes the '70-'72 muscle car era graphics (Judge, et.al.), deliberately keeping it simple enough to be painted at home. The stock hood has always been a favorite of mine with those inserts, so I left well enough alone, and took some time to remove the front markers (integrating them into the headlamps with a street rod industry product combo lamp), and utilizing the opening left behind as a brake cooling duct, to squeeze as much braking performance as possible.

I wish, as well, that John would've had time on this one... and working with two guys as talented and friendly as Ben and Jason made for a great experience. Thanks again Scott and Jeff, can't wait to see this thing come together!

17 inch is too small imo big quarters need atleast 18-20-22" those Lateral Budnik will look sweet in those diameters just my 5 cents

My vote is for Bens but with the addition of that bad azz W-30 hood that Jason had in his design.

I just thought of something now that I'm looking at the renderings together. Though we do have a range of "design" ideas regarding color break, trim, hoods, wheels etc. maybe color is secondary in selection. Afterall, there's only 3 color sets up there for everyone to select from. This is entirely up to Jason and Brian but maybe the actual colors can be adjusted after the winning design is chosen. Color is so subjective and vital to a great design.

For example: Say most people like Jason's overall design, but don't vote for him because of the actual colors he's showing. His intended color break may look best as bright red with a silver bottom, who knows.

The other side of the arguement is, we made the decision as designers that our best bet was with the colors we showed on the rendering. Live by the color, die by the color.... I guess what I am trying to say is I want to keep everyone involved with this project, and if we're showing only 3 color combos that don't really energize people maybe we should keep color selection open for now.

I dunno, what do you guys think? Hopefully I explained that well enough without sounding like an idiot.

All of the renderings come from some extremely talented people we have been blessed with hanging out here on this board. I think taking some of the design elements from each design will honor each of the efforts displayed here would be cool. The exaust in the rear taillight is extremely cool, Hood design on one is awesome and a paint scheme from another is cool. Its a perfect collaberation of the talented individuals represented here.

i thought this was going to be a low buck build? have you priced a quality ram air repop hood lately?

We don't know that we are putting a W-30 hood on it yet it has not been voted on our budget is 15,000.00 for parts only it does not include any labor as the car is being built we will go at each step at a time with pics to show some of the poeple that have no idea how to do it, at current time we are in about 7,300.00 in parts and looking quite well for the budget

I like the black & gold, but I'm more into the muscle-look than the more elegant styling of the other 2. The black and gold screams "badass" while the others look more like luxury cars... not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just my personal taste. All 3 are very cool, and many styling cues can be taken from each of them.
