The specs on the DPG (Desert Proving Grounds) are:

Approx. 3500 acres, 70 miles of roads....at one time was over 5000 acres....

DPG has been recent sold to a housing developer for 300 Mil, or something like that....we will be leasing back for 3 years until a new facility is finalized

You can find some cool old shots of it at this link...

That looks exactly like the Riviera from my story about the "worst thing to happen car story" thread. 465 dual quad Buick Power...and it would smoke the hides at will and the two speed turbo hydro with it, LOL.

Some interesting factoids:

MPG was founded in 1924

We now have over 5000 employees working at MPG

It it over 4000 acres

Contains the highest elevation in southeastern, MI. (The big reason the site was chosen all those years ago, elevation changes)

We have over 132 miles of roads within the Grounds

From 1925-1986, they estimate over 820,000,000 miles have been driven on the grounds

If you look in the lower right portion of the picture Scott posted, you car see the MRC, Milford Road Course....Yummy!

Amazing place to work.

I have some really cool pictures from an anniversary book published, I will have to scan and post them..WW2 Tank testing, Pontiac Division machine guns...early vehicle development rigs...neat stuff...

I know how GM could get out of the money problems they have, start selling track time at the Mich site and Arz site. Come on Scott Lateral-g could have the first public track day at Milford
