Anyone know if you can buy interior panels without upholstery?

You can just use the upper metal part of the door panel, and make the rest using "door panel board." It's looks like a real dense type cardboard material.

Nice!!!

that thing looks like it is two inches off the ground and 30 feet long.. like a cruise missle..

Did it win the car show part or some sort of race/event they had? Either way, nice car

I think its basically their "best of show" award. I also think they get like $5000 worth of Year One parts, .

Default cup car

I am suprised it was selected (show car winer) Don't get me wrong, the car was very straight and well done, but it reminded me of an early 90's car. Everything was painted red, rear end, suspension, bumpers, etc. Kind of like the cars Troy use to build. Stock front suspension with coil overs. He let the coil overs all of the way down to get it that low. At that ride height the headers were about an inch off of the ground. Again, I am not blasting the car as I spoke with Scott the owner for quite some time and he is a great guy. I guess that I have grown to like the cutting edge cars or things that I have not seen. I would have never thought that I would give a ZL-1 camaro 10 seconds of my time, but if you have seen one you have seen them all restored back to stock.

I guess with all of that being said you can tell I am not a numbers matching restro guy nor am I really a trailer queen show car guy...I like the cars that are built to a high level and then driven in a way that they were intended. I realize that this is not for everyone and some would not want to risk their investment...which makes this hobby appealing to a wide variety of people with varying opinions. Its your car, do with it what you will.

That is why I like this site and the whole pro-touring movement. People are building great cars with the focus on getting them out to drive.

It won the Year One Cup, an engraved glass cup shaped trophy, which is essentially "best of show ". Plus $5000.00 in Year One parts. The car is also supposed to go to any YR1 sponsored shows throughout the year, but I suppose that is up to the owner, too.

Holy crap.. $5k? Best ive ever gotten was a damn jacket..

Ironic that the car least in need of parts gets that kind of prize.. should go to the "best under construction".. lol..

Nice car though..

Just make sure you use metal (like the original) and not el cheapo plastic like the repop panels have or it will be warp city eventually

I think its a cool car. I love simplicity, not alot of chrome, not alot of flare...simple red paint. I like all that about the car. Interior is simple but stunning too.

Yet, and I never criticize cause it is their car and they do what they want, and should be happy. Yet for some reason I dont like the huge wheels on this car, normally I can like 20", but some reason it doesnt work for me with this car, the fronts seem too small with too much tire compared to the back, I dont know...but its still an awesome car and deserving of the award.

I kinda agree with Payton. Very nice straight foward car, simple and looks well done. However, I think that there is more than one car on this site that is several tiers above it.

I like last year's winner better. Remember? black 68 'vert. This car is a modern street rod. Remember they thrashed last year's winer on a road course on Speed? Somehow, I do not think that this car will receive the same kind of "love".
