As best as I can tell from the text I just got. Our two heros are hunkered down in a bar still in Portland Maine. Must of had a really hard time loading the Camaro.LOL

I think I get it now, this just a really amusing way to go long distance bar hopping.

Silly me, I was focused on miles per gallon........appears the question is what is the miles between beer stops going to be on this journey? Will it be Gas-Beer-Beer-Gas or Beer-Gas-Gas-Beer?

Well it was a long but mildly successful day. Positive net yardage is the name of the game.

As the truck was getting the new clutch finished up in NH, we all and made our up to Maine to see Jake at Jake's Rod Shop and get Ron's 68 shell ready to pick up later in the day when the truck was ready. Ron had to fly back to Socal this afternoon so after we wrapped up there and had a killer lunch with Jake and his guys at the Gastropub. Caramel glazed bacon donuts were a treat.

We then made our way back to NH to get the truck. On our way we stopped at a gas station I wish we had in California.

And this picture adequately describes the scene once we got back to the truck.

Got the sucker loaded up and after a quick test drive we made our way back to Maine and to Jake's.

Jake was a huge help and let us use his shop and tools to and helped us get the junker Camaro loaded up. Glad Rob is here to wash the windows

Got back to the best damn brewery in Portland and celebrated a little victory. We recommend the gingerbread and bacon

And she's all parked and good to go for the night. The Hampton Inn downtown here only has valet and I told them no way in Hell some 20 year old punk is laying a hand on Betsy. So we parked on the street.

The numbers.... 110 miles today in the truck. We hope to go 485 miles tmrw.

The words.... cars, trucks, good beer, good food.

3400 miles. No overdrive. A 40 year old truck none of us have ever seen before. Probably 8 mpg. What's not to like?

Wish us luck.
3400 / 59 = 57.6271186 Days!

At this point I'm not sure they can maintain that 59 mile a day average.

There appears to be the potential for set-backs associated with afternoon yeast infections.

Yeahbutt these 118 miles have been 'quality' miles.

Plus, I'm gonna add all of Flash's rent-a (pull over son ) car miles to the total.

Then it looks decent.
