So I got the trunk corners cut out and raised so I can get my tail pipes made. That's a huge relief...got the car back together and tried to start it only to find my Optima battery was dead as a door nail. Not surprising as that thing was ancient. Bought a new one and got it installed and the engine cranks over like crazy but will NOT hit a lick. I can hear the fuel pump prime when I key on but no pressure at the rail..I double checked the supply/return lines were hooked up correctly but no fuel came out of either one. I'll probably drop the tank and verify the wires are hooked up correctly but I'm pretty anal about labeling everything so I have my doubts..Totally nuts, this thing was running when I dropped the tank to do the trunk
Haven't had a chance to troubleshoot much else. It's got a 1/4 tank of fuel. Not sure what the odds are that the new Corvete regulator could've suddenly died.

Any fuel at the rails? Unhook the fuel line and cycle the key and report back

Hey Randy, thanks for the response. I unhooked the fuel line at the rails (no fuel present) and cycled the key 5 times. Each time the fuel pump cycled but no fuel ever showed up. Is it possible that I inadvertently transposed the wire connections?

Are you using a vsppoworx tank with the returnless system? I read for the first startup you need almost a half tank to get it primed up

No, I've got a Tanks, Inc. fuel injection tank with a Vette style regulator. The return line is only about 12" long. When I was checking things over last night, there was no fuel present at the regulator either. Thanks!

I have hooked my tanks inc fuel pump up backwards doing some bench testing and it sounds close enough to normal that I wouldn’t have been able to tell the difference. Very possible you hooked the wires up backwards.

Is there enough fuel in it?

Yeah, that's good to hear. I'm thinking that's gotta be the issue. It's got 1/4 tank of fuel so should be more than enough. I'm gonna take the gas back out and drop the tank to check the wires. It's gotta be something simple. I appreciate the feedback...it's a huge help!

Alrighty then, just in case there was any question about whether you're in tank fuel pump will supply fuel if wired backwards...it won't! lol it's those little things that make the difference!

So, while my Camaro's off getting the front clip reinstalled, alignment done and tail pipes made, I talked my Dad into putting a FiTech system on his 79 Z28. Fun fact about this car is that a neighbor up the street owned it for about 15 years when I was growing up. Used to see it cruise slowly by on occasion with the Wide Crager SST's on the back all jacked up. He was single and rode his Harley most of the time with the Camaro on garage duty except for the occasional drive on nice days.
About 1998 Tommy sold it to a buddy of his that jerked the motor and trans out so Dad and I bought it for $1500. We put a 350/350 combo in it and I drove it to college the last couple of years and then he took it back, had it stripped to bare metal and repainted. Unbelievably, the car was totally rust free with original paint and zero body filler.
Long story short, this, along with his '30 Model A streetrod are his toys and he puts a ton of miles on each of them. They get baby'd constantly but driven constantly, rain or shine! Kinda off subject but thought I'd share anyway...
