Default Final Intake Tube Mock Up (( 06-13-23 ))

Mocking Up the intake tube for the last time before I make the final cuts.

I need to take off at lease an inch off of the end going into the throttle body and at least 2" off the end going into the hump hose by the radiator.

You can see that I will also be cutting the 2nd half of the intake tube as well.

Default Fesler Door Vents (( 06-16-23 ))

I need a quick and easy project as I only had an hour. So I decided to install the Fesler Door Vents.

Somewhere along the way of me sticking my hand in this hole the paint got chipped and the metal got a little bent.

I modified my Vise-Grips as not to cause any more paint damage.

Good Enough

Default Seat Set Back Plates (( 06-16-23 ))

Okay, Yes I know I am short however I like to sit back from the Steering wheel and apparently I drive with the ball of my foot.

They say it is all about the details so the Zinc coated bolts are going to have to go. The funny part is the only
people that will ever notice the Zinc coated bolt will be the people looking at the underside of the car.

The main purpose is to have studs so I don't have to try to get the bolts into the floor through the carpet. I also
like the idea of not having to kneel on the seat stud.

Default Seat Studs (( 06-24-23 ))

Continuing on with the Seat Stud Project.

Here is what I came up with.

Since, I am using studs I will need to make sure none of the sound deadening in the threads. The tool of choice
is a nut driver and all you have to do is gently move the sound deadening back.

Just stick in the hole and wiggle it around.

Studs are in now i just need to smooth back the sound deadening.

Quick trip to the local Ace Hardware for some fender washers.

Brackets are back in.

Default Replacing the brake fluid. (( 06-30-23 ))

I am doing this because I can't remember for the life of me if the car had Dot 3 or Dot 4 and it's also possible I mixed them. So I am sucking all the fluid out and starting over.

The New Stuff and this time I put a note on the bottle

Just a couple cool picture

Default My OCD is killing me (( 06-30-23 ))

I love these Velcro straps and I will be using them to secure the wire for the Vintage Air.

Eventually I will hide the wire behind the line.

Default Vintage Air Final Connection (( 07-02-23 ))

Today I will be working with the one arm man. I needed to get him out of the house so he could feel somewhat human again.

Since the line was in the car and I wasn't removing it we went to plan "B". We ran the line through a small hole right above the inner fender and out under the headlight.

We raised the car up just high enough to let the line reach the crimping tool.

Finally crimped and attached to the AC compressor.

Next Up filling the car with distilled water.

Default Vacuum filling the Cooling System (( 07-02-23 ))

Let's just say this was a big learning experience.

Per the instructions we made all of the connections an applied Air to create a vacuum. Well, we were only able to
get 5 bars which is not even close to the 20 we need. This meant we had leaks and most likely more then one.

Found leak number one.
Apparently I had the clamp to close to the end of the hose which caused the leak.

Leak number 2 & 3 had the same issue.

yes this one sucked to get to

Years ago I made this block and it is the exact same height as the lift and man did it come in handy that day.

I moved all of them down and this issue has been resolved.

Next up with the thermostat housing.

Well, this one was all my fault. I picked up a thermostat for and LS1 not remembering that this motor has the
Wagner front drive and a new water pump. So let's just say it leaked.

Back to Filling and yes this to we hit 20

Eventually I plan to add coolant so I am leaving the rope up for that day.

If you are only going to do this a couple times this is what I used. It is definitely not a commercial grade item but for $40.00 it worked.
