Marty the car is looking awesome!! Can't wait for you to get some miles on it, time to burn the gas in the tank!

If you ever need hose clamps for filters, hit home depot or Lowe's. Go to the toilet hardware section, they sell nice stainless steel polished 4"+ clamps there. I bought a bag of them and keep in my garage for such occasions. Actually had to use one this weekend to install a tach in a 72 C10

^^ THIS ^^

I also get mine from the plumbing section. They've got all sizes, stainless, and I find the quality is much higher than the auto parts version.

Welcome sir! Forgot to mention there's black hose clamps on Amazon, used them recently on a build, but unsure of how long the color will hold..

Default Finaly figured out the Water Pump & Thermostat (( 07-19-23 ))

Not sure if you guys remember but I misplaced the original Thermostat after we found one at Autozone that
seemed to work or at least seal up the housing. Apparently I went to the autoparts store in the Cayman and
I must have put it in the Frunk (front trunk)).

I crossed reference the part number that was on it and the water pump is from an Escalade.

What I need to do now is create a spec sheet for everything and every aftermarket part in this car.

Default I only had 30 minutes of free time (( 07-22-23 ))

Since I didn't really have any free time tonight and the hose clamp came in I went out and installed the K&N Air Filter before I misplace the clamp.

Default Time to Torque the Front Suspension (( 07-23-23 ))

I feel like I am getting closer however I know there is still a ton of work to do.

Puled out the torque wrench and of course the Battey's are dead so off to Walgreens !!!

Holy **** is that printing small.

20 Minutes later and $14.00 poorer we are back and ready to work.

Upper and Lower Ball Joint - Complete

After another quick trip to Autozone for Cotter pins I am back.

I always buy longer cotter pins and cut them to size. Not many people know that Vise Grips have a cutter built into them for cutting cotter pins.

I learned this trick 40 plus years ago from an old guy and now I seem to be that old guy.

What tools were needed just for this simple project.

Since I have Memory issue's (post chemo) I take tons of pictures to help me remember things that I do. So today I took
pictures of the instructions confirming what I did today.

I still need to get the front end aligned so I printed the specs for when I drop it off.

Rollers are back on next up Driveshaft angles.

I've got the same exact torque wrench. Just so you don't have to find out the hard way, it only measures torque one way. After trying to torque reverse thread ring gear bolts I learned that.. AFTER damn near snapping the bolts in 2. Look at your pic and they clearly mark the direction with an arrow on the battery cover.. The more you know.

OMG I never notice and that might be because I have never had to do a left hand thread before.

Holy crap and now that I say this I bet I will have to do this in the next couple months.

Default Second Chance Camaro

I recently put some new mag wheels on my old dodge truck
It has left hand threads on one side and figured out my torque
wrench only goes one way. After over 40 years of wrenching
this was the first time I had to torque something left handed
