It's starting to seem real as I am finally getting close to driving the car.
So, it's time to remove the mock up battery and install the really Optima Red Top.
Well we have a small issue. I am using a grade 8 Zinc coated bolt and washer and the washer is slightly larger then the bolt which
is interfering with the hold down bracket. So, the bolt is coming out and I am going to file a flat spot in the washer and attempt to
line it up with the bolt head. Which will give me just enough space to clear the bracket.
I found another use for my mountain bike gloves.
Filed down and almost ready to go.
I increased the diameter of the inside of the washer so it would sit perfectly flat.
Just a little more please
This was fun...not !!!
Nope, the washer rotated so I need to do it again.
This time around I started with the washer flat spot a little further back (counter clockwise) so when the bolt contacted
the washer it would move in sync with the bolt head. It took a couple try's to line up the flat spot with the nut on each bolt.
More ARP bolts for the top of the battery tray.
In order to tighten the bolts I had to move the Vintage Air hoses.
Some of the blue tape it is finally coming of.
One more reminder.
I need to shorten one of the inner fender bolts as it is way to close to one of the vintage air hoses.
