Default a real update

After 4 weeks Dart's main caps finally showed up at the machine shop. I was actually there asking for the direct phone # to Mike's rep at Dart so I could call and the UPS lady walked in and dropped them off.

Things start moving now and should go pretty quick (hopefully).

If my calcs and assumptions (based on seller's info) are close, we should end up with static CR in the high 12's or low 13's. And I have an idea I introduced to Mike today about running a certain pump gas for this. And it's cheaper than 91 octane. He's never done one before, but he said he's open to it once we get all the head, piston and related critical measurements verified. He said "it's just fuel." Hopefully this idea works out...

Oh, and before I brought this up Mike was his usual self talking about customers in general who don't have a great plan and end up changing things (he was talking to me about me ) and that they "need to be slapped in the face sometimes."

Crank is back and weighed in at 49#. Pretty svelte I thought for a 4" stroker.

Was there a Torino around here somewhere lookin for trouble?

Yeah, but not as much as those anodized purple thingies.

Technically at this point in the game all he got was feet for an antique coffee table.

SBC train is leaving the station!

I've been gone for nearly 4 months---I was able to read just the last page of posts and feel completely caught up. It's exactly how I remember it.

Congrats on the main caps---amazing how long race motors can take to compile isn't it? Were you starting to wonder what lunar material Dart had to scrape off the space shuttle before they could tool those things up for you? 4 weeks for main caps---that is absurd.

Todd could've whittled those up on his ban saw/bench grinder in like 3.5 days.
