Glenn,

Glad you're feeling better. I like where you're going with the close out panels, but it seems more practical to actually have it be two pieces.

Agreed, two would be easier. That was my original plan, but then thought I would try and see if I could make it in one. Luckily, if I do it in two, the split would be all of a half inch right in front of that latch support.

That will be nice!

I am curious how you will do such a large radius bend?

Thanks, Joe

Good question, I asked myself the same thing at first. On that test panel I bent it around a pipe. Worked ok, only thing I would do different on the final piece would be to clamp it down with a bar or something so that it bends uniformly.

Sorry you haven't been feeling well and I am glad you feel well enough to go out in the garage. That is usually a sign that you are on the mend.

oh ya it's looks nice and what color are you going to paint it ?

Thank you! The panels will be the same color as the car with matte clear to match the engine compartment.

A couple hours today in the garage. Definite therapy session! I remade the left side, then made the right one. Tomorrow I am running to a friends with a bead roller and put a couple lines in it for help strengthen it and for looks. Then I will detail the edges and get it ready for paint. Very happy with the end results.

Man your making us all look bad.

Heck all I did today was swap some tires on my fat bike and go for a cold (37 degree) wet muddy ride.

oh and I saw a really strange movie at the Theater. Really strange.

I haven't had much time to work on the car lately. I have been plugging away with the closeout panels. The first set instead of doing a bead roll it was decided to do a tapered size dimple die holes. Well, with some miscommunication between me and my friend with the DD, he stamped them the wrong way, from bottom up! Lol.....

So I ended up having to make another set, I now have them in primer and as you see here they being final test fit before painting. I ended up deciding against any holes or bead rolls and letting them just be simple and clean.

And lastly, as I prepare for the first ever showing of the car next month, I had this sign made for it. I will be showing it at the Boston World of Wheels show in March. Can't wait to finally be able to display the car all done.

SEMA...... I have been asked, and even urged by some of you to try and get the car to SEMA. I got a call last week from a vendor whose products I use. I know the area rep very well. Apparently my car has been talked about/shown to their marketing department and I am on a short list of vehicles being considered to be used in their booth. I'm not sure how likely it will be to actually happen, but I am honored and happy to be in the running with my little ol Maverick!
