Default Here are the latest updates...

We'll here are few more pics of where we are today. Other than Rodger and I agreed to change up the front and get rid of the bull nose and make it more hard like the rendering - it is done. They did a killer job. Like the way they rounded all the egdes. Really gives it a finished look! In the rendering it has an opening for the hood latch which we will not have. Once the package starting together with the Radiator, A/C condensor etc I ran out of room to support the middle section of the latch area. Minor hurdle IMO. My thoughts right now are to run some reverse pins that mount on the bottom of the hood that that will drop through the main support and pin through the grill opening. We'll see - have to do some brain storming.

Thoughts?

The bottom edge of intake below the throttle body is raw at this time. It will have to be cleared for the radiator hose then it will all be trimmed up, arched and radiused like the top.

Very nice work, that has got to feel good seeing how it came out.

I just went back and looked at Ricochet's underhood pics.

Bodes well for the '55 engine compartment when finished.

Brent, the intake looks really good. As for the hood latch, have you taken a look at the Mule? It's got a latch at each front corner of the hood. Maybe it could work for you?

I have seen those. If I remember right they are VW style latches. I ran one on the 57. Just may be the way to go. Once I get it back home this weekend I'll start thinking about options.

Brent, it may nickel and dime 'ya the rest of the way (pun intended part deux)...but based on the buzz the car is creating so far, 9 months after Nickelback is finished watch out for some '55 Shivy newborns showing up here...

Holy Crap!! You left a post on my car so out of curiosity I came to look at what you had going. Thats out of this world wicked! The intake, fender braces, exhaust, renderings, etc... Un-freakin-real!! I can sorta imagine how bad you're bleeding financially, but only sorta! Someone earlier said it right, When all is said and done you could call it 'Nickeleft'.
