I came up with the game plan
OK so here it is: L92 heads with comp springs, stock L92 truck manifold, Corvette filter for the return, Edelbrock 4 bolt 90mm throttle body (cable actuated) ,214/224 cam @.050 high 500 to low 600 lift on a 114-116 LSA, possible 6L80E trans swap , 2001 and up full floater 14 bolt with 11.5 ring gear, 2001 and up HD frame back half, and some comp lifters. I need to put more research into some parts but for the most part its factory GM parts. I am going to contact Truckin and see if they want to do a article on how to get 500+ hp out of your 99+ 6.0 vortec truck. I want to keep this truck looking stock for the most part. Since I last posted I put a ton of new parts on the truck, such as: steering wheel, rubber work mat (instead of my old carpet), new tail lights (OE), new power steering pump, hydro boost, master cylinder, steering shaft, denali Gauge cluster swap (which looks awsome),Vertical GM HD mirrors, new under hood light, new infinity speakers (stock head unit though), new tires, new coolant recovery tank, new heater core quick disconnects.
New Lq9 crate , stainless exhaust with V bands and Dynatech headers , new radiator, new hoses, new cooler lines, new motor mounts, re manufactured alternator, new steering box, new A arms ( cant get ball joints or bushings for this truck) new steering gear, rebuilt the Rear end with 4.11's/Eaton Posi, scored a set of aluminum HD wheels, new rotors and pads (Originals went 170k and still had some meat left) class 5 hitch, new 2200 stall, new O/2 sensors my own custom tune and thats about it, scored a used bed for 1k, all of this was done from April-June of 2008. I did all these improvements with some of the little spare time I had, mind you I was building the GTO at the same time.
The truck was a pest control truck my father used everyday until december of 2007, that's when I got it.

Rodger, what ever became of the truck in the background. I didn't see it when I was down there. Is it finished? Pictures?

LS3 heads were ordered today for the GMC, LS3 heads feature sodium filled valves and upgraded springs and are identical to L92 Heads otherwise. The list consist of L92 intake manifold, nick williams 92mm TB Ls3 heads and reusing my 214/218 cam, its a good all around truck cam.
I will see what this combo makes for power, I hope it is good.
I am saving my Old Lq9 heads for my Lq4 Shortblock. That Lq4 is going in a 65 Lemans convertible for my dad rebuilding it soon. Its the old motor out of my truck, were giving a second lease on life, as a fun motor and not a work horse.
Port the Lq9 heads and LS2 manifold, 92mm Nick Williams throttle body, 224/230 grind cam on a 114LSA, not sure what i am going to do with the bottom end.
