I know last fall they started really enforcing 103 db as about 5 of my friends got black flagged. A friend called the city and county about it and they said it was self imposed by SCCA. City and County have no problem with the sound. Apparently there is one neighbor that complains. I would either tell him to pound sand or just impose a 20.00 fine for anyone over 103 db. SCCA could then give the guy the money to shut him up. I would gladly pay 20.00 per day to not have to worry about sound.

BTW, how did Jack do?
Met Jack -- super nice guy and fun to talk to -- he built an awesome car for Greg. I didn't catch his times but he had a well prepped late model Mustang with a big wing. Thing looked fast on track.

Greg/Charley - you catch his times?

Charley -- I didn't look closer, but do those stock cars there from Borelli have driver side exit to pass sound? They seemed pretty loud, as well as that rough white Mustang coupe with the kid driving it with girl passenger.

I clocked Jack at 2:08... It's a really well prepped car - and he can wheel it. Carbon fiber doors and roof... gutted out -- sorted out.
Huge 3:15's all around - compared to Charley and my skinny old skool 2:45's!
Those things are just steam rollers!

So how'd you run today? Car performing well as usual? I am sure it is.

Ran the same consistent 2:12 / 2:14 laps.... Found a cut driver rear tire while checking pressures. Somehow the tire managed to "get into" the fender lip... so of course -- much investigation went on to figure out if something had come loose etc. Nothing had - and one of the very experienced guys said I may have experienced some spring wrap up/wheel hop while loaded or unloaded which may have caused the problem. The cut was only 8 inches long and the damage to the fender lip was almost unnoticeable. But the investigation etc took up most of one session. So only ran for about 5 minutes that session and ran 2 total on Sunday.

We wanted to take the "scenic" route - Hwy 20 along Clear Lake to 101 South then down to St Helena... So we all split after lunch... so it was a short day.

The car runs great and is far faster than the driver.

I spun in turn 10 after getting a point by - needed some more throttle to get by - then was too far inside... tried to go back wide - brake - heel/toe to 3rd and missed the shift - by that time I was too deep and watched as the overtaken driver blew by me... I did manage to keep the car on track... but of course the old "Will Greg Weld please come to the principles office" black flag was being waved vigorously...

Nothing a little roll of a baseball bat wont fix.

Sorry I missed you guys but I skipped a work day on Friday to play with my car and had to go in extra early on Saturday only to find out I was short an interior door. Wasted day....didn't even bother to pull my compressor and gun out of my truck but did manage to complete the demo of the other doors.

So when you coming back to Cali? I still have a couple more times I need to get out to dial my car in. NCRC events preferably as those are the ones that fit my pocket book.

Yeah --- You should have come over... it's way more fun than work!

My next Cali trip will be Northern California Shelby Mini Nats at Sonoma Raceway --- first week of August I think it is.

Your going to love that track. My favorite. You wont get the speeds you see at T-Hill.........maybe 10 mph less top speed......but the configuration along with the turns with elevation changes is great fun. The only turn that gives me the pucker factor there is turn 10. Not a sketchy turn and plenty of visibility but trying to draw as much speed as you can without drifting to far out to the left has always been a thing with me. The end of the esses going into 9 is where ameatures like us could learn to pick up more time. learned that one from my instructor and once he told me i wasn't giving enough throttle down the hill through there I gave it a whirl and picked up at least a second and a half or two.

Hmm...I might have to bite the bullet and meet you guys. Hopefully Dave will be ready by then also.
