Thanks Jody, this one kinda designed itself... it's a good looking car all on its own. Just needed a shave and a haircut!

The cutting tools came out as we began cuttin' up the Olds. This time, the rear wheel houses are removed as well as the outsides of the trunk floor. This is the ugly stuff!

Here's some crappy camera-phone shots of the "S71" Oldsmobile's frame after returning from the media blaster today... we were pleased to see the frame is in great shape, with the original stamped numbers clearly visible on the rear side rail. Soon, we'll be adding some supports and boxing this frame to give it some additional strength.

lookin good kev, I always seem to like what you guys are up to and building.\
I am looking forward to seeing this car come back from media blast.

I meant to say Hi to you at the OPG booth in vegas, but I was like a deer in the headlights when I saw you. I sorta froze up and you said hi with a sort of weird look on your face wondering who the hell I was. If this makes it any easier I was the young guy who won the dukes of hazzard dvd at the lateral G party.

That was you?

Just kidding. SEMA is usually a pretty big blur, but I remember you from the Lat G party. Good to meet you in person!

We're looking forward to seeing this car blasted, painted, built, and DONE! OK, I'm getting ahead of myself...

Thanks for the kind words... we hope we can again build a car that looks like Ben's rendering.

Happy New Year!

I know You and Kelly can pull it off, and I hope it looks as good if not better then the Chevelle. I have faith I like what you guys put together.
I just hope I can join you at SEMA next year with the goat.

On that dukes of hazzard DVD, it is funny that I won that.then you guys called me up while I was telling everyone at my table how I used to have a dodge dakota that was painted "AMC big bad orange" and had 01's on the doors. It had the DIXIE horn too!! damn I miss that truck, we used to jump the hell out of that thing. As my dad said "you drove that truck till the wheels went square" LMAO

Glad the DVD went to the right person! Someone was trying to fix the drawing to put it in Lillard's hands, but it seems to have turned out after all.

Thanks again for the vote of confidence.. we have added some resources to be able to do more... a new paint / body tech, some new toys (tools, I mean), and some new approaches to project management. The Olds is bound for the YearOne event, so the deadline is tighter than SEMA, and we're starting another killer project possibly for Power Tour... it's going to be a busy year!

S71 Update: Tonight, the guys were busy cleaning up the original chassis, grinding sloppy factory welds, adding new welds where needed, and planning for the addition of new steel to strengthen the frame.
