A Charger in a sea of Camaros
Man I've finally found a home. I must say a beautiful site and a TON of beautiful cars...even if they are mostly GM. Lemme introduce myself: I have a 68 Dodge Charger R/T (#'s matching so the purists hate me!!). So far the car's been gutted, chemically stripped, and the only thing stock is some of the body, the engine and the crank. Everything else is restomodded or pro-touring.
Front end is all Magnumforce with 13" Wilwoods and AE coilovers, shock tower braces from the firewall. Glass fenders, hood, and Shaker.
Rear is a Dana 60, 35 splines from Moser, QA1 coilovers, adjustable ladder bars, diagonal link, and 12.5" Wilwoods.
Interior is an 8 point cage, flaming river tilt column, fabbed aluminum dash, heavy-ass pleather seats (for the Power Tour), 5 point harnesses and AC might be in the future and power windows.
American Racing Torq-thrusts 2's are powdercoated black. Michelin Pilots on the corners. 335's in the rear and 265's on the front.
Engine is the good-old-boy 440 reinforced to make (I hope) around 750 horses with EFI and a c-fugal s-charger. A 727 converted to 6-speed auto will also be added.
Last but not least the car is going to paint as we speak. Satin black with clear on the whole car, gloss black bumblebee stripes on the ass, Shaker scoop will be gloss black to go with the gloss black rims. The only chrome will be the door handles, flip top gas cap, and the lug nuts.
Now then, don't any of you Bowtie knuckleheads steal my idea for the paint. Oh yeah, I owe this all to Mark Stielow's white 69 and of course the Gottlieb's Big Red Camaros for the inspiration. Yeah, I know, 1st Gen Camaros are kick ass. Thanks again and I'm glad to be a member.
