Yes and no. The blue material which was not really carbon fiber, but actually turned out to be dyed fiberglass, was VERY difficult to work with. And when the material was stretched over a hump, or dip, the fibers pulled a bit and you could see un dyed areas. So it quickly beacme obvious we would over lay parts and not really use carbon fiber to make them unless we used black and overlayed it. So we overlayed the rear panel, but by that time I already hated the idea of using FAUX carbon fiber. It just felt fake and ricey to me. So to top it all, Once the rear body panel was done I saw some weird color cast in it, almost mystic, but not a pretty change, and I got pissed, and tore it off.
Now the stripes are a gourgeous Candy Oriental Blue, on top of the pearl white is just stunning.
So while we wasted stupid money screwing with the carbon fiber (fake carbon fiber), in the end I think we got the best result.
