I'm going to do mine 14" x 16"

We are putting a c5 vette on them first, with 305/35/20 tires.

im hoping to get 20" of clearance so we can do a set of headers on the car.

why not just fab some wheel chocks,or just buy some for that matter, and fasten them to the top of the wood stands? Be much safer.
you could also make 2 sets of stands . 1st set to go to max jack height from floor level and second set to you to your working height and then build a stand to put under the jack to reach the working height. It's double work, double money but easy and safe.......enjoy

These 16"s work great the wheels sit in the Hole just right and not putting any bind on tires! and like i mentioned you can set them on there sides aswell for jack stands etc at least for support.

Yeah its just a basic crib stand. The company I work for has used them for 20 years to stand modular buildings on.

I think I'll turn my boards on edge,,,,,,,, that way all I would need is half the amount of materials! Except I'll need longer nails Hmmmmmm..........

not a good idea. I would think boards on there side could shift and allow car to fall, just doesn't seem that it would be as stable.

How about some more pictures of your car.

this is the last one that i have right now. I have the cowl all painted just need to wait for the engine harnes to come in from speartech and run fuel and brake lines. and might be able to see it run for a few seconds LOL

I made mine last weekend...

I made mine 15x15 in the rear and 12x15 for the front both 7 boards high. I made a "limit" sticking up on one of the front just as one more little thing to help just in case it rolls.....doubt it will and that piece aint gonna hold much back but I figured what the hell..
I'm going to be doing a 335-35-20 rear and 245-35-19 front.

I had a bunch of small scraps so I put one of them into the gaps...same thing...what the hell...alittle added strength

I'm gonna keep jackstands under there just in case......
