68 Camaro Air ride??

if you wanna stay under 30k your gonna really be pushing it with getting an after market subframe...and if you want a car that handles nice and can slam down for shows... and you dont plan on tracking the car i feel that aftermarket subframe become a bling item... theres no need for them if you dont plan to push the car to the limit... did you have a motor for it yet?
i would keep the stock subframe and just get the airride shockwave kit with thier uppers and lowers and get the prodigy bar from frank with the shock waves upgrade.my guesstimate is oif you go with speedtech (i believe the least expensive of the aftermarkets) with shockwaves like frank said 6k the rear suspension and axle i would think 3500 to 4k. brakes 4k, wheels and tires im thinking even though you dealer youll probably pay around 3k. plus 2k for the airride kit.
and if you dont have a motor youve got easy 5-10k unless you go lsx then maybe even more. and when restoring a old car all the little thing can really add up quick... im not say 30k is not doable at all but if you go all out theres no way youll do it even when your doing all the work in house.

Its going to be close. Im droppin a LS2 in it. With trans wiring ect Im looking at 10k. If I go a few grand Im sure the end result will be worth it.

You mentioned selling your subframe, but as Santijay mentioned, absolutly NOT necassary. you could save a ton modding the front frame and have all the cool factor.

Again, just get with me when your ready and we can go to step 2. Whatever you want, mild to wild, we have it.

Don't forget to consider the cost of your LSx conversion when deciding which way to go with the front subframe. The AME will save you some money on the conversion because you can run the stock accessories and F body oil pan. You can also run low cost C5 brakes and abuttments. Do the math on the total cost of your project including the LSx conversion. When I did it the AME subframe cost was more a less a wash with an upgraded stock subframe but gives superior performance.

Just looking at one of your previous builds I can tell your not a person that does things half way. That's great if your building a baddass G-Machine and a very bad thing on the pocket book.

My build started out just changing the brakes. Two years and $60k later I decided to have a shop finish it for me. I figure another $40k and I'll be driving it.

It's your car, you build it the way you want. Half or more of these cars have aftermarket subframes. It's not a huge costs but it does cut into a small budget.

Thanks for the info guys. After I do all the work I dont want to look back and say I should have done this or that.
I have a guy comin over in a hour to pick up the subframe. That 1k toward the new unit. That makes the new unit about 5k. That kind of justifies it a little . I could be wrong but I think I could get into the stocker 3k to get what I want out of it. Thats 2k off from the aftermarket unit.

before you make your decision, see if there is anyone around you that has a pro touring stock clip and a aftermarket clip you could ride in or drive. if your in new england you could stop bye, so you made the right decision for yourself

Boy I wish I had the money from that useless build back,lol. I had 90k into that build with the cost of the car. Problem is when you sell a car like that you loose a LOT,lol.
Only if I would have built a Camaro then.
Trust me the monies you spent now on your car will be worth it in the end. It will be a neck breaker, looks and speed. If you ever do sell it you will get most of the cash back. Ive been using your build sheet,lol. Well, with a edit here and there hahahaha. Your car is going to be bad arse!!!
