How does wheel buying work when they are ordered? DO companies make you pay in full then wait or do they allow deposits?

I think it is a few factors. One being that bigger companies tend to have back log. I recently received my Fikse's from Frank @ Prodigy and I think it was about seven weeks or so (well worth the wait imo). You might ask yourself well how much back log can Fikse have? When was the last time you saw a car driving down the freeway with Fikses or Forgelines? I never see them. The back log in Fikse's case is race teams. I have been told by Fikse that teams like Ganassi will order 200-300 sets of wheels at a time. Perhaps more in one order than some smaller companies sell all year. I think another factor is $$$ in multiple length halves which is dead weight until it sells. I really think the high end wheel companies only get a small piece of the pie in the Muscle Car market which is filler work between the race team orders.
BTW, I think CCW stills ships in a week. Smaller companies can respond better. As for payment I think most collect up front with some exception like PRRC lay away plan.

We have parts on the shelf at Forgeline and can build wheels in as little as 2 weeks, however I do not like to burn those favors on every set of wheels.. 3 to 4 weeks is a more normal build schedule. No one steps up to the plate like the Forgeline and Prodigy Customs team for getting "Emergency" wheels out. Between Forgeline massive inventory of parts ear marked for Prodigy Customs, and all there own inhouse building abilities including machineing, polishing, powder coating. They are uniqly qualified to get them out quick when required.

I just did another 10 set purchase right agreement with Forgeline and have parts ready to go and killer prices.

I also can get Boze in a few weeks depending on finsh, and Billet Specialties can be pretty quick. Fikse we sell a fair amount of, but they are taking a little longer as tom mentioned, about 6 to 8 weeks.

What do you need?
