The body work is a ways off Anthony.

I am going to continue with the teardown and clean up of the subframe. Need to toss the old motor and trans in the lake. Then another trip to the media blaster. It had been blasted before I got it but they left the interior in it AND the motor and trans. After that I will weld up the stock sub frame and get it powder coated, then start hanging new parts on it.

In the mean time the motor should start taking shape. I still have not ordered my rotating assembly or heads. There is a bunch of stuff to start buying really soon.
While the motor is going together, the body will be at a local place getting some love. The window channel in front is toast and needs to be replaced. There are a couple other areas needing rust repair too, but overall it is pretty solid. I have new fenders, hood, trunk lid, rear tail light panel and quarters all here if I need them (may not need the rear quarters). I'd like to do as much as possible myself on this. Other than the body repairs and prep/paint I hope to do everything else myself.
Let the games begin!

I'd like to thank everyone for the support and advice. It has given me the balls to jump in with both feet and do this. I'm not a total rookie, but in no way am I any kind of expert. Your advice, answers, ideas, comments are all very much appreciated and will ALWAYS be welcome!

I will start posting pics soon. I know I am slacking bigtime there.

The renderings look great !!! Any one of those schemes would work just fine. If you run into any questions on your 70 , fire away, oh and post some pics of your proj. when you can..........would like to see it. Here's one tip, if you can get your hands on a parts car second gen., do it. You can cut out the sections of damaged window channel and have them welded in from the parts car without fabbing up the contours (bends) from scratch.

Thanks for the tips Paul. There is a second gen near by that may have the parts I need for the windows. But the rest of the car is trash. It was an old drag car and has been beaten beyond help. The roof structure is about the only semi straight part left. I'll have to see if the channels are ok and what he wants for the shell. The guy thinks everything on his property is worth gold for some reason. Hes got over 20 cars there and the county has been after him to get them out. His forced sale is not going so well because of his prices.
I'll get some pics up in the next week or so of my car. It is nothing special to look at right now. But it is a really good base for this build.

I think you might be a little biased.

I landed on the silver/grey/red stripe with black wheels. The hood is a point of discussion with the wife (it's going to be flat, SSSHHHHH ) she wants the cowl hood.

Thanks for all the great input guys! Time to start building.
