Thumbs up

Picked up the free pizza tonight, kids loved it. The PJ workers didn't seem too interested in the whole thing. There was a 4th gen (father and son) also waiting, we BS'd for a few and then left.

I had the opposite experience. The girl running the register was really excited about my car and goes to the drags with her boyfriend. I called ahead, added jalepenos, stopped for a sixxer on the way home and was into dinner for $9.

Same here the people didn't even check to see if I had driven up in a camaro

Got mine last night, the chick had no clue what i was talking about.

Her - "Ok, that'll be $20.54" (I got breadsticks too)

Me - (trying to be all suave) "I'll be showing up in a blue CAMARO!"

Her - "oooohh!!! Fancy! Nice!"

Me - "..... Ya...." *pause* "... isn't there some deal about a free pizza?"

Her - "uhh... HOLD!"

She thought I was trying to pick her up

Man, free pizza sure tastes better for some reason. I stopped by yesterday evening with my wife. The PJ crew was really cool. They said the only way I was getting a free pizza was to lay a little rubber in front of the store! I certainly had no problems with that, but I think the stores around them were getting a little annoyed! There were 2 other 3rd gen Camaros there too and so we all blackened the concrete a bit. Seeing the other photos posted, I now wish I had brought my camera.

Wanted to but got home late from a Dr. appointment then the local heavy fog (think light rain ) started rolling in so I was a no-show.

25 mile roundtrip and about $30 in 110 race fuel for a $10 pizza started to not make a whole heck of a lot of sense...if it woulda been sunny I probably would have gone.

Todd,

Great picture love the car. I think it is funny that in that picture, every store is a food store.

I just found that interesting...

Papa John's Camaro prodigal son-like return, he gave away free pizza to Camaro owners yesterday — 35,847 free pizzas, to be exact!

Thats alot of pizza!

gotta say, that is one of the cooler stories in a while... the fact he was able to buy that Camaro for $250K because he could is really awesome IMO - I owned a pizza joint for awhile (as well as worked for many small biz owners while in college, etc) and all I can say is that when somebody can go out and start a biz and actually make it, they deserve everything they get from it... to have the kind of scratch to drop $250K to get back your baby pawning pizza is just awesome.

That dude has something that I sure don't have, and it isn't just perseverance tho' that is key, it really takes something that is somehow just innate to be able to create a company as large as that. Now hearing the story of selling that car to pull his dad's bar out of BK and managing to start from THAT and have PJs across the country... fricken really cool. Makes me want to go to PJs just to continue to support someone with those similarly meager roots and that much passion. The fact he didn't buy a ZR1 or boats or whatever but hunted for that car implies to me that he probably appreciates what he has most certainly earned.
