I hope the focus stays on it being a fun event and all about bringing out our cars to show what they can do. I'm glad they got the scores corrected, we all knew there was something wrong. The temptation in all this is to build your car into a race car. I hope we don't get carried away. Steve, how are we coming with that carbon fiber Cobra???

Charley, great job on posting a 1:52 on the track. Pretty fast.

Maybe next year BFG will let Kyle run the race tires also, it would be cool to see what the second gen can post.

I'll bet most keep tweaking their cars which will make for an even better event next year.

I thought I was told that Kyles KDW's were special compound ?

I'm glad they recounted everything. That must mean the Cobra driver was the guy that built the car for track use for the owner..

I think in interviews I was worried about how we would do against the Nissan GTR but even I ran the road course faster than the GTR.

From what Kyle said BFG wanted to see the difference in times since both cars are usually pretty equal. He said when they were testing it was about 5-6 sec faster per lap on their cars.

Pretty impressed with what Carroll Shelby did back in the day. The cobra has some updates and is lighter, etc,., but 43 years ago that car must have been unbelievable compared to what else was out there. I had no idea they were that fast.

The carbon is arriving tomorrow, but the 16" carbon ceramic brakes are stuck in Germany. The delay is ok since it will give us time to finish up the titanium frame and all aluminum 454 LS engine.

We should be set for next year.. Schumacher is helping with the assembley and I think Michael will be a good addition to the team...

I don't think so.. My understanding is that Jim is just a very long time friend.. I'm sure he helped wrench on it (what friends don't).. but that's not really in the spirit of being a "builder".

Nice to know the Cobra would slaughter the GT-R.. that warms my heart

Tom worked his *ss off on the Fairlane to put a 4-link in the rear, coilovers in the front, new rack and pinion and custom made monte carlo/stut tower bars. Of course nothing fit but Tom custom made alot pieces along with the help from Air Ride/Ride Tech guys. Thanks Guys!!! I love the new Tiger Cage from Ride Tech it is Sweeet! Thanks Bret!!! I still can't figure out how Tom drives in construction/work boots and pulls off a 45+ sec autocross time in the Fairlane.....lol It's a true testimate of driving skill and his car set up. Thanks again Tom and everyone who helped on the Fairlane!!!!

Hey, where's my thank you for the car.. or at least for building an engine that didn't scatter across the track! lol

Good deal on the Fairlane, if PHR didn't have their heads in the sand about this event it would have been perfect for them to cover the car at the race.
