I managed a 2:01 on 6 or 7 cylinders in the vintage Shelby race...Finished the race but it appears the cam is wiped out.

Jacks car is the white Mustang behind the black one.
There is a more in the car, but the driver is pretty much at his limit

Meaning how are we supposed to have an opinion one way or another if we don't know the car?

I could show a nose cam from an F1 car and wonder if you can beat that.. so without more info I'm not catching the point of the post.

But I will say the video is pretty badass to watch
Hey, I am an equal opportunity car guy. Thought I would create a lively discussion with the Mustang versus Camaro debate. In fact, I building a pro-touring 69 Camaro inspired by Charlie Lillard and Mark Steilow. I will be introducing the car in the near future.

Sounds like fun. I did notice your line was wrong coming out of 7 and going through the s turns. Those are late apex turns. Also coming out of the s's right before turn 9 it looked like you could have pushed through a little faster, something I learned my last time there in 2006 that helped me gain a better time.

If budget and weather allow, I should be there with NASA running time trials October 9th and 10th.

If you are interested, a bunch of us from the Pro-Touring site will be at Buttonwillow Sept. 25th with Speed Ventures. Place "Pro-Touring.com" in the comments box when registering and you will save the $20 towards timing and transponder rental.

Very cool. Will you be posting the car on here? I would like to see it.
Thanks!

You are correct, I have a hard time pushing out of 8a thru turn 9; however, not sure I share you opinion on on coming out of turn 7. Come out to the Nor Cal event at Thunderhill in mid October and show me your line. Can't make the Buttonwillow event, but will be at Laguna Sept 18th and 19th.

Here is the link to the website for registration
http://norcal-saac.org/index.htm

The Shelby Club welcomes everyone; makes for a great event. The NorCal group is very well organized and they put on a fun event. I am sure Charlie Lillard will be at the Fall Classic, but you never know what he will bring from his stable of cars. Look to see you there.

Oh, Shelby Club, glad you posted the link, Thought you meant NCRC. $270 is over my budget for a track day, but since you have all that extra money why not show up at one of my events. You can have a track day, buy me lunch and still be money ahead, LOL. Just kidding.

With all the exrta work and changes to car this year, budget has been limited to two trips to any one track this year just to see lap time change with each suspension change.

I will post my time for Buttonwillow Sept 25th and will be my final track day down there until I hear of someone with a PT car beating my time on the 13 cw configuration.

My last two track days this year will be at Infineon in Oct. and Nov. One day for test and tune, second day to re-test new tune and post time.

Only reason I am considering Thunderhill a third time, last time out only got 2 sessions in due to cracked spark plug that we didn't find till I got home.
I ran a 2:08 there 1st session on a cold track, 2:10 second session due to being stuck in traffic.

Keep me posted on your times.

Default Thunderhill with NCRC

I agree NCRC gives you a lot of bang for the buck compared to NorCal Shelby; what are the October dates for the NCRC event? My best lap time in April of this year was a 2:05.62; sounds like we should have some fun on the track.

I have only run one weekend at Buttonwillow; not my most favorite track, but sure is a lot closer to home in So. Cal.
