had nice conversation with Dave Wagner at Schott wheels today! hopefully next week i will be ordering my set of Schott GT wheels so they should show up at the same time as the chassis and i can get everthing mocked up correctly then and things will start rollin!
As far as tires go i think i am going with the BFG G-Force T/A KDW2. what do you guys think? good road maners and decent autocrossing?
Thanks!
The wheels are so clean looking and such high quality from what ive seen so I am really excited to get them!
Hey Ty - nice choice on the wheels. I actually stopped by unannounced to the Schott factory. I was in the neighborhood, couldn't help it! I gotta say, aside from being nice guys and true professionals, thier whole line of wheels are top notch. Some styles may resonate more w the PT crowd based on your build design, but man they are bling...

I like the wheels alot and i am going with a Protouring style car but with some street rod influenced parts yet like the hillborn stack injection and stuff so the wheels will fit in good!
The next 55 after this one will have some ccw's or forgelines and be strictly protouring style.
^ nothing wrong w street rod style unless you're building a track only car!
This one is going to be drivin and drivin hard! once it is done with its first year on the circuit starting with sema in fall and skipping the indoor shows except the Milwaukee WOW because its local it will go to some of the Goodguys shows and after that the car will be drivin everywhere no matter how far. our cars are drivers but were going to treat this one a little a little nice in the begining!
Got some work done this weekend. The body is ready to come off the chassis, all we have to do is pull the 2 front bolts that are finger tight. We are working on finishing up up the quater windows and the door windows since we have to wait a little for the chassis. We fixed up the the original window chanels and put them in all 4 windows but the anti rattlers were gone so we had to buy new ones from dennis carpenter but they didnt make them for the 2dr post only the crown vic and the hard top, so we had to make them ourself.
Thunderbird emergency brake installed
newport engineering windshield wiper motor test fitted
Factory wheel tubs cut in half and spare tire holder cut out so when we recieve the art morrison chassis we can make final measurements on cutting out the rest of the truck floor. we will have to modify the truck brackets with the bigger tubs but shouldnt be too much work.
Good Floors
Anti rattlers installed.
heres our dash. The gauge pod panel will be layed out for our new gauges and we we cut some more card board templates with the idea of turning it into some engine turned aluminum pieces. I am most likely going to just go ahead and smooth out the radio, ashtray, and switch holes except for the lights, key and wipers so they will be easy to acess instead of in the console. i will be leaving the glove box to because it is still nice to put things in.
wheels were also ordered and will show up about the same time as the chassis which works out perfect
