Wait, are you saying team OLA ran a 32 second lap? that doesn't seem possible.. and I don't see the spread between 1st and 2nd being THAT great.

Maybe it was supposed to be 3:02.390 .. which would make WAY more sense...

Sounds like Daytona is a whole 'nother world. Glad everyone is safe.

For those that are wondering what my driving experience was at Daytona's high banks and infield road course ... I saw God. We had quite the discussion about a lotta things car and He agreed to let me live to drive and race another day. This, by far, is the most exhilarating and scariest thing I've ever done with a car, any automobile.

Reminds me of the fun that happens on Power Tour, with a lot more racing mixed in.

We found out that one good shock and one broken shock doesn't last long for extended highway travel. Luckily our teammates had some spares that almost fit and we got down the road to Camden and will be competing at CMP tomorrow.

Jimi Day shared Centerforce AMXess's photo.

Everyone's lap times were off this afternoon as the track started to lose some grip in the hot afternoon sun.

We're done at CMP and on our way to BMW test center for a quick one lap around their test track. Onward after that to Viginia International Raceway. The afternoon session felt good, the lap times were slower, but I felt better in the car after the repairs. WE WILL ADAPT!

James Shipka

Round One at Carolina Motorsports is in the books - Mary 1, Carl 2, Jimi 3. Two seconds separated 1 and 2 and another 2 separated 2 and 3. We're sitting first in class and 22nd overall... Round 2 coming up shortly followed by at "short" 150 mile transit to BMW and on to Virginia.

Mary Pozzi

I am so proud of our One Lap team and especially so of our Camaro. Took a peek at the Carolina Motorsports Park afternoon track results and we finished 16th overall. The Camaro was nothing less than perfect! Thanks so much to all the people that have helped us along the journey and throughout the build and upgrades. We could not have done this without you ... (James, you built a "10").

Detroit Speed

One Lap Update: It’s good to be home! Kyle, Ryan and the White Monster Camaro took home field advantage to a new level with a 1st in class and a 6th overall finish during the morning session at Carolina Motorsports Park. This picks them up crucial points in the chase for the top team in their class. Good luck this afternoon!

Stacy Tucker shared Detroit Speed's photo.

The afternoon session saw clear skies again with more heat building in the track. This time it was Kyle’s turn in the driver’s seat. He finished 4th overall and 1st in class still without 4th gear. They managed to shift around 4th gear all day. Next it is on to the BMW Performance Center for the autocross.
