Anything was better then that 2 tone
Car does look so much better in person though. It's definitely lighter with a nice silver metallic to it.
I came across this kinda late but thought I would throw in my two cents for anyone else in the same boat. Everybody made very valid points regarding the pervious paint, solvent issues, and so on. My comment was really going to boil down to the competency of the shop. All of the afore mentioned issues are concerns but with a competent painter/shop they should know what's best based on what they see. If there's underlying paint issues they should be visible in the existing paint although difficult to see with an untrained eye. Bottom line is you get what you pay for. Scuff and shoot is a loose term and if you look at your photos, they did more than the term suggests and it looks like the end result is what you were looking for. unfortunately there is a lot of shops that will sell you on what they want to with little knowledge to back it up. With that said, your car looks bitchin and none of what was mentioned seems to apply. Looks like they did a good job.
^^^^^ that is why it is a good idea to stay away from shops that do collision work.
Seems MOST of the horror stories you hear about paint jail come from collision shops. we have a 68 Chevelle in the shop right now that just got released from Jail. it was there for 3 years to get a new floor, and a paint job. only cost the customer 12,000.00 but he could have been driving his car 2 years ago for another 8-10 k.
We are doing a full bare metal up 69 Camaro with custom stripes, we have given our selves 6-8 weeks to complete the job. 1 guy 100% of his time on that job. the only downside to this program for the customer is that it needs to be paid for in 6-8 weeks as well,
It turned out 10,000% better looking. Good for you! Wow - a completely different looking car. Although my sister would have loved driving the two tone... LOL
