I love the outside look of the place, you don't see an actual lawn around a log "cabin" very often. Not too keen on the vibe inside the home though.

I see him skiing once in awhile -- he always has an instructor with him so he can cut the line.

I absolutely L O V E Jackson Hole area. We'll be down there in March some time. Gwen's old boss from New York City settled there. They have a fantastic home with a big natural pond in back... Last time we were there a Mommy Mouse and her baby came in the yard. Mom watched us watching her... and baby Mousy swam in the pond. It was so cool!

By the way -- who stays friends with their boss from 1977....

I could have sworn someone suggested this idea a week or so ago....

Jeff-

I've been looking at buildings for a year or so... as a back up plan. But all along I've been told "no problemo"... Well yeah.. they were right - it's not a problem at all... as long as I'm willing to pay $350 a square foot for 4700 square feet of shop space. I must have forgotten to tell them I used to live in New York City - and that I could build a shop there cheaper!

The good news is I can buy a larger space for 1/4 the cost... and I'd even have room for your car Jeff!

It's a beautiful parcel... But I agree with you... the whole "log cabin" look is really dated. They're not building that style of stuff here anymore. Now it's more "Sun Valley Lodge" look... big square timbers... Montana Mossy Rock for the stone... over the river rock look... and generally a more sophisticated look all around. Still Mountain Lodge... but just not big "cabin" look and feel. The people that built super contemporary over here can't give them away. People don't seem to want a Los Angeles Cliff hanger when they come to the mountains..

I'm shocked you are wussing out on the big garage. A real man would shrink the house down to a double wide and then he would have room on the lot for a garage.

I forwarded this post to Gwen....

The good news for you? We just bought the condo next door and above you. Did I mention she's a "heavy walker"? The 9 year old boys (all 6 of them) are going to love that pool... I bought them all giant squirt guns - you know - the kind that shoot 200 feet.

She can walk all she wants as the entire building is 6" concrete and with sheetrock on top of it.

Dated log cabin or not, I love it. That Gulf sign on the garage has gotta be worth a few bucks a foot.
