I think that it's a double standard going on with this one. My opinion included. The stang with the Nissan motor struck a nerve but the 510 with the SBF was sweet. I know it's wrong. It's similar to your son dating and your daughter dating.

.... I'm waiting to see guys take American style choppers and stuff Hayabusa engine/drivetrains in 'em if that's even possible? LOL!
i havent seen a busa powered chopper "yet", but in a recent past issue of super streetbike, there was a triumph triple derived chopper. and a few months before that...there was a ducati derived chopper..... so im sure somebody someplace is workin on a 550hp turbo busa chopper
To me a Hot Rod is a Hot Rod is a Hot Rod. If nobody tries anything different then everyone would just build the same stuff was really all I was saying. I'll bet that Mustang is crazy to drive or even ride in. I've seen good ideas start out as a joke just thinking about it...then you laugh for a minute...then you think to yourself or in my case grab the nearest possible paper product - paper, napkin, tissue whatever and start sketchin'! But I've seen it and I'm sure it's happened to others before. Sittin' around with a couple guys talkin' cars and crackin' open a beer or soda. Then the "what if..." crazy car talk starts...
Toyota used to buy engines from GM for Land Cruisers, A Chevy Cavailer is sold in Japan with Toyota emblems on it. Rover bought aluminum V8s from GM for Land Rovers. Jaguar, Bently, and other bought transmissions from GM for thier cars. GM put Olds engines in Pontiacs in the late 70s. Jeep/AMC put GM power in thier cars. Ford trucks have Mazda and Mitsubishi transmissions in them. What is so wrong with swapping engines/transmissions/parts from other manufactures, if the manufactures themselves do it? Everyone that builds a musclecar/hot rod usally uses what I calla "check a" list of parts:
Chevy Motor & Trans
Mustang II, Nova, Volare, or Corvette Suspension
Ford or Jag rear end
GM column (Ididit + Flaming River are GM designs)
Not everyone does this though, some people find new and better parts to use. They are real hot rodders because they think outside the box. Do think hot rodders in the 50s shook thier head at putting a hemi or olds rocket in a light 32 ford roadster? Anyone ever seen a 40/41 Willys Coupe with a willys engine? Did you know that they came from the factory without hemis and tubs? It wasn't even a option. I'm half tempted to go buy a 1st gen camaro and put a nissan 5.6 V8 in it. I've yet to see one of these engines fail for any other reason than pure ignorance. I think 5.6 would woop all over a carburated 350 any day in all aspects and be much more affordable than a LSx. I'm done ranting a raving now... back to working on my Rambler...

i might be the only one more offended by the ford!
really, everyone has their own vision. If they can actually bring it to life, then mission accomplished, right
i actually dont think anyone builds a car to piss off anyone, this was built by a bunch of guys who sit arround their playstation praising the nissan engine, and to tell you the truth, if a full tilt 900hp nissan skyline engine complete with 4x4 transfercase and front differential fell off a truck in front of mt shop id seriously considder installing it in my 65 mustang, awd and everything!.. not to piss anyone off, but because its a cool driveline.
and if you show me a fox body purist, who is sad to see an 83 mustang "lost to the other side" i have nothing but pitty for him... i can understand prople who get pissed at filmmakers for needlessly destroying icon cars.. but hotrodding a dime a bucket 83 mustang.. come on
