Roger,
Is the Camaro going to get a paint job or a body wrap?

I'm thinking a Cheap orange paint job to paint the roof and jambs and seal the primer. The put big stickers or a wrap in other sections just not a full wrap. I love the carbon stripe on the door. But I'm not having carbon doors made. Trying to get it together quickly and if it does not make it stop fast or go fast. And my OCD will let it pass. Just trying to put it together and make it easy to work on and service.

I'm worried if I make it to nice I won't have as much fun with it.

It belongs to an old Fairy tale of a car that might get finished some day.

Default Update

Well guys we have been hammer down trying to get this car set up to do a track day next Friday. We have had some major obstacles lately. That have really slowed us down. First the transmission, I bought a used T56 from a fellow member here on the sight and found out this week it is a Tranzilla. Sweet deal right. Well After days of not being able to find anyone who believe that I had a 32 spline out put shaft in a T56. I finally figured out the 1800 T56 I got was a 32 spline Transzilla. So it does exist. I was told I was measuring wrong, I needed to count again, they had never heard of a 32 spline output shaft. See my problem was not the 32 spline but the bigger output shaft which would not fit into the tailshaft housing at all, unless we spun the slip yoke down to less then .090 wall thickness. Not my idea of a "Good idea".

So after about 1.5 hours at the auto parts mega warehouse with a sales guy that has not even just one clue. What Year car sir, 1967.... Camaro..... Does it have 350? no it has an LS7.... Don't worry about that. Finally I look up the application for a 32 spline yoke and it was from a TH400. So they go get me a few tailshaft bushing and seal kits and finally score the 1.890 which will fit my 1.885. Bingo. Oh great they are out of stock and its 5pm. So 2 days later this monster 1 BILLION sq ft ware house that should have everything, finally gets my seal kit. I take the tailshaft housing to my good buddy to bore the opening to the bushing, but wouldn't you know he just got a V12 engine set up on his machine and he would have to make the tooling to bore this small of a hole. The V12 is a CAT V12 that powers a drilling rig. So My great buddy blazes through that job and then is able to bore the tailshaft housing to size. We get it back and fight to reinstall the tailshaft housing back on the trans still in the car.

We last week when all this mess started my lead wring and mechanical guy goes into the hospital with bad respiratory problems. Well he might come back tommorrow. He got half way through the harness milspec connectors and WHAMOO he is SICk.

So at this point I have 8 days to be ready for Buttonwillow and getting any kind of crappy orange paint on the car is longshot. I really don't want to do a complete wrap. So we will have to see how things turn out.

The front sheetmetal is on. Most all the plumbing is back from XRP to plumb the fuel and dry sump system. 8 days to go til track day #1.

Don't you just love that crap. It's the little stuff that takes all the time. I just noticed that mammoth front wheel lip. Does that have any chance of clearing the inner fender?

Well we just got done doing alot of work to some inner fenders for the Donkey Kong car to have some Carbon units made. They will use these for molds for the Carbon Inners. So hopefully they will clear. But those are a few months away. I was just going to run them with out for now.
