Yeah - looks like the motor mount adaptor plates could be on wrong... No way there's that much space between the firewall and the V/C's.

Well this sucks. Which plates should I be using for the Speedtech frame?

I have 3.5" of space between the passenger side valve cover and the firewall on my Camaro. You should probably ask Blake what he thinks is acceptable and/or what mounts he would use. If he knows of a set of mounts that that do what you want, there is no sense in ordering other ones and having to "experiment," which usually involves time, money, energy and beer if you get frustrated. Just my two cents.

Yep thats correct.
as I said in the other forum on the same question.
We have experemented with moving the engine back 1.75" as I did in my Nova. Here is a list of the issues that needed to be rectified.
Header to Firewall
Steering shaft to Header
Block to rack and pinion fitting
Alternator Low mount CTSV to subframe
Alternator to motot mount.
Bellhousing to firewall, ( i have to remove the subframe to change the clutch)
master cylinder to valvecover (depending on both)
So after all that we decided to keep the engine in the same spot as the BBC and SBC
It makes for an install that the guy at home can do with no issues. I think that is what the majority of customers want rather than the engine moved back 1 to 1.5"

I have 4" between firewall and valve cover. Keep in mind that is not a factory firewall guys.

I have a feeling my engine sits where its supposed to but the modified firewall makes it look like it sits too far forward?

If im going to be opening a can of headaches here then Ill leave it the way it is. Im trying to get my car ready for Pomona here.

I have no idea what you just said..... in that "yep that's correct" as in the motor mounts might be on wrong? Or in "Yep that correct" as in that's the clearance you built into your sub?

All of this kind of stuff is so hard to "judge" just looking at photos.... But it "appears" to have a LOT of bellhousing "exposed".

3.5 inches pass valve cover 4.25 drivers to the firewall. stock Speedtech mounts shoved all the way back on the slots to the frame. Rack, headers, ATS oil pan..everything fits great. there is enough room for the electric fans.

LOL Ok, Yep the way it is sitting is Correct, John did not use the Speedtech ATS motor mounts but that does not seem to have affected anything.

John did smooth the FW which does normally move it back slightly.

Some updates. Front grille kit is on. Car is wired up and ready to go to the paint booth to spray the stripes on it next week.
