Sorry to hear about the delay. Better safe than sorry though.

You are better of waiting till after this weekend Wayne. It looks like it might be bit stormy out and definitely not worth risking.

I'd be surprised if it was anything more than just some rain and slight wind anything past the Carolinas. It usually is dead by the time it comes up to New England.

I was also thinking of all the people on the road leaving because of the forced evacuations. It bad enough on the road with out a bunch of p/oed people.

Wayne, since you now have a bit more time....any chance of renting a better trailer from a rental chain like United Rentals? They usually have really overbuilt trailers which are a lot better than what you can rent from U-Haul....Or maybe borrowing a good car trailer from someone?

Rob I asked around and no one has an enclosed or a good open trailer that I know that can let me use it.
I didn't think of United Rental until you mentioned it, but I just checked and they don't have anything and can't get one. At least with the U Haul They have road service all the way down and back and if you think of it a private trailer I'd be on my own with any problems. Although I'll keep trying.

Wayne,
Are you still going to get the car with the weather conditions on the east coast? I'm not sure how close you or the car are to the affected areas.
Please be carefull. Depending on exactly where you need to go, maybe waiting until this thing passes in a few days is safer?

Did you try Penske? I used them when I moved from MA to OR, I had a box truck and towed my GF's Saab behind it. If I remember correctly the trailer was a solid floor.

The last time I tried Penske they would not rent auto trailer unless you rent one of their trucks. I didn't try this time. Maybe because I have the 2 door short wheelbase Tahoe.

Default Free At Last !

Well boys my baby's home. We left Monday at 4:30 pm and drove all night we got to Mikes shop at around 11:00 we loaded the car on the trailer and put my old parts in the car annnd the rest waited until Wednesday moring after we got 3-4 hours of sleep. (I was too wound up to go to sleep.) Mike didn't do all the stuff he said he never got the roof quarters and tail panel ready for paint. But he did do the front sheet metal doors and trunk lid. He was supposed to make brackets for my rear C6 Z51 brakes he never got them done He was supposed to do that as extra for taking so long. The rear has Large old Ford bearings so Tobins kit won'''t fit. He ordered the axles with the Toirino offset to try to make it fit. But I'm no engineer to get the parking brake to work I'll have to figure something out. Can some one tell me where to measure for axle off set?
He did paint the bottom and fire wall, dash and raise the floor fo my T56.
The ride back was 17 hours with pit stops for gas food and trips to the head. It home now and I'm going to need a few days to recooperate. Like Toby Keiths says I'm not as good as I nce was but I'm good one. two in a row is killer. Please excuse any typos
Here's a picture fro m4:30 this morning.
Sorry for the small picture I'll try to get some a little later tonight

And some room for bigger tires.
