if you guys keep saying you will pay big bucks then most likely those people making them will see this thread and be big bucks in the end . now shhhh! quit flashing your cash !!!!!!!!!!

I am not thrashing the parts or the people making them. They look like a very well engineered and design piece they put nice geometry on everything so that it is pleasing to the eye. But from my manufacturing experience the estimated price makes me cringe because I no that if had engineering drawings of the parts I could make them for way less. But I am only talking about make one or two sets not going in to long run production and marketing them through a major retailer.

I am going to shut up now and just wait and see what they will cost whenever they hit the market.

I think this product is slick!
I don’t know about any of you but I would pay $700- $1000 for them. I own my own manufacturing business and know how expensive it is to design, program, tool up, purchase materials, assemble, package & pay for other overheads. Now my guess is that they were made as prototypes so I would expect them to streamline there process by time they are released for production. This in turn may bring the price down or not, but I would rather pay this for something made in the USA then the China built $299.95 special.

**Can't wait to see what's next**

HELLOOOO !! Anybody there??? Are you guys for real !!!, you must really have money to burn if you can justify spending $1000.00 on a pair of bonnet hinges. Think about it,........ they're just hinges 'fer goodness sake!! Ok, they look well sweet & would definately make most engine bays look cool, but even at $500.00 it's still darn expensive, sure it's a shed load of work to make them, but just put it into perspective here for a while,....... they just hold the bonnet open!! if you've got so much money that you don't bat an eyelid spending that amount on hinges, then give the money to charity to do something worth while with it. Thats a few months rent or mortgage for most people.

I give generously to charity. If I want hinges, I'll get me some. If you don't, well, then don't. It's cool by me.

Considering I spent $200 on two billet emblems on my last car I guess I am a bit nuts.. lol..

And I'm in SoCal.. so $1000 doesn't even hit 30% of a motgage and its barely over half for the average rent... lol

A few people would buy them at $1000 but to make a ton of sales they need be less than $400.. but that is just my marketing opinion.. can't wait to see how it all fleshes out.

Even with the awesome software available to animate 3d assemblies they probably went through at least 10 prototypes getting the linkage correct. Honestly there is some serious thought and engineering put into those and unless they get an upfront order that excedes 100 units I would be AMAZED to see them sell for under $600/pr

and honestly, at $750/pr I don't think they will have any problem selling them. These aren't for every joe, but the guys who are building high end cars won't flinch at the price. Heck in Mopar land people pay 3x that for a silly horn emblem.

well said. I am looking at building a set for my project and i plan to spend at least that much on them.
