Basically the problem ended up being able to install the header when the engine is installed. It's not easy, but it can be done - but making more clearance between the header tube and control arm only made the problem worse. Fortunately, with the ceramic coating, heat is not an issue.

Also, we haven't had our ceramic coating fade to the best of my knowledge. Both the Morrisons and I have logged several thousand miles with our headers with no issue as of yet.
