The car looks like crap from the body line down, so I figure a quick bondo-job and white paint will hide all. It looks OK from there up, so I'll leave it blue on top. Wheel-wells on front are rusty, and the rear are butchered up already, so if I need to "flare" it a little, so be it... it will fit the vintage NASCAR look.

For the drivetrain, I have a rectangle-port 12:1 427, M-21, and 4.10 12-bolt posi all sitting around waiting for something to use them in.

The number is my birthday, and sponsor is made up. It's not something I'll drive often, but I think I could build it in a couple months if motivated, with minimal cash outlay. Most of all, I see it as a way to actually get to drive a car I've owned for 13 years and have yet to drive, and build something "different" than anything else around.

How far along are you on it. Be sure and post some pictures as the progresses. Looks like it would be a un car.

Thanks or posting.

Dear Mary:

I'm speechless!. That is a killer bit of film, I bet your very proud of it. (I know I would be)

Thanks a tone for posting the link to it. I might just have to watch it several more times, it's very inspiring.

Is this you daily car or your street legal "Race Car"?

What all have you done to it? I haven't checked yet, but do you have pictures posted of it?

Thanks once again for linking it. It looks like you had an absolute blast.

Take Care, and post some pictures of this Bad Boy when you get a chance.

Ty

BallnRods:

You are a very fortunate person. Talk about a HotRod back ground, growing up you were surrounded by it. Very Cool.

My Grandfather and I had a common interest, but the rest of the family couldn't give a hoot about cars as long as they run. go and stop, when they want it to.

Does you family still own all those cars?

The Pictures of Your dad's and Mom's cars look to be circa 1973-1975? Am I close?

BTW: What were you running in your green Camaro?

Thanks a lot for posting the pics.

Ty

My brother-in-law & my sister has matching rear engine dragsters. My dad is getting old & he wants to hand the little black Opel down to me.

My Uncle & Cousins are also drag racing with us. This is my cousin Ashley, she’s 18 years old & she runs in the mid 7s.

BallnRods:

Seriously, you have one of the coolest families ever!

It's Extra Cool the women were laying down the Rubber also. That picture of all the cars is about the best, "Family" Hobby/Occupation picture ever.

Thanks again and feel free to post anything else you think we would like seeing. (Hint: Girls and Racecars go together real well) I'll be checking this thread on a regular basis if you keep this up.

Take Care,

Ty

Great looking Ride. Tells us something about it. It looks like it is crying out for numbers and some time on the track! How is it set up?

I'm really looking forward to your next post.

Thanks,

Ok, you win the prize!! I remember seeing that car, and it has ALWAYS been one of my favorite cars on this forum.

That is exactly the kind of street/race car that I think really jumps out and says, "Bad Ass!".

Even people who don't know anything about cars, know there is something special about this car.

The decoration next to the car doesn't hurt either. I bet that ride is a Chick Magnet!

More Pictures?, How about some video clips from the out side and the inside?

Please visit this thread again.

Thanks a million.

Ty

Hey Ty,

Thanks for the complements and yes, it's licensed for the street but not a daily driver. It's a '73 Camaro RS that's got a lot of suspension and steering goodies, 383 GMPP engine with Richmond 5-speed, roll bar (no cage as I want to still be able to drive on the street without a helmet), wide 17's with Kumho V710's for track/autocrossing, and a bunch of other stuff. It's not a real looker (guess I'm saying I know where all the warts are ...) but very fun to drive.

As for me on this site, I pop in occasionally and saw this thread so decided to post the track link. I'm usually on Pro-Touring or NastyZ sites ...

Cheers,
Mary Pozzi
