It's because everyone knows Fords can't handle turning more than one direction.

I love old 'Stangs. I almost bouoght a really nicely driver restored one to use as a DD, but then I found my Z06 and it was all over.

Hey Frankenstang, I've got a couple Fox Stangs I'm doing. The 1980 Cobra will be a killer all-purpose street killer with an all aluminum 1997 Cobra motor, 99+Cobra heads, Sullivan intake, carb, pistons, rods, big brakes, blah blah - you know, all that other stuff. Anyways, yeah we're lurking.
BTW, The all aluminum 4.6 DOHC aren't actually that much heavier than a 302. I don't have the numbers here but I will be weighing (comparably) my newly built 302 against the stock 4.6 DOHC Cobra motor I have - I think they're very close in weight from what I've read written by Sean Hyland in his Mod motor books. Now if you're talkin about the iron block 03-04 supercharged engines and the GT500 motors - yeah they're much heavier.

The Mod-motor is as wide as a bus. You need to remove the sway bar mounts and go to a hydro-boost to gain clearance. They do look pretty good in the fox cars.
What about the rumors of Ford going back to a pushrod engine?

I really do wonder, every month in PHR when they show the project cars people are building 90% are 69 camaros. I swear if you have seen one you have seen them all now.

My hope is that everyone buying first gen camaros are buying them because they've always wanted one, not because they are popular. If thats true then i don't mind so much. I just sometimes think as a society people like to buy what the other guys buying.
I often wonder if those huge mustang sales in 64 and 65 were because people actually loved the look of the car or just because it was a popular car, so everyone had to have one because the guy or gal next door had one.
Strangly enough mopar E-bodies (70-74 cudas and challengers) didnt sell all that great, but now I see more of them at big mopar shows then even A-bodies (darts, dusters, valiants barracudas), which are the cheapest mopars to get into. Again, as long as people are buying them because they've always wanted a cuda or challenger is fine with me, but i worry they are so popular because of how high they have gotten sold on BJ auctions.
I like first gen camaros, and cudas, but its the not so popular cars that i read about first in my magazines, like the chevy IIs, falcons, early darts and valiants, ect.
