Your rear door line must line up to the rear quarters -- because the quarters don't move -- so if that lines up and you're happy... then go ahead and tack 'er up. The front fender line is adjustable and you may have to modify the door edge - or fender edge to get that perfect gap (depending on what you're happy with).... Once you have the rear quarters on - the trunk gap is even and perfect (to your liking) and the tailpan is in and you're happy with that... then it sounds like it's time to start sticking her together.

RE Drip rails: Cut 'em off while you have the chance. You live in Reno - and aren't going to drive it in the rain anyway! LOL

Thanks for the tips I made sure to line up the doors before I cut off the old quarters and I am just about satisfied with the gaps. I'll make some final adjustments and weld it up after. I was going to cut off the drip rails but ended up buying new ones since the originals were rusted. I'm going to keep them since they are new and I am basically a beginner at this stuff.

I had to add some metal and metal filler to get the molding to quarter fitted correctly


Both quarters came off one more time to get this gap even. I also welded and filled the lower quarter to rocker seam

My original trunk lid was beyond repair, so I picked this one up off of craigslist
