Momo steering wheel, Ididit column and NRG adapter?

Yeah that was a great finish. Probably the best one we'll get in awhile.

So question for you or Siegster, i've got everything mounted and the stamped plate that retains the horn assembly for the Momo wheel wont seat into the NRG 2.5 assembly. If i dont use it the horn that will be an ugly hollow space, if i do use it i can't tighten the wheel down all the way.

Suggestions?

Think i got it. The horn ring doesn't quite seat but seems ok. Horn works.

Not sure how to improve the horn fitment.........it's not the ideal design. It's on my "need to improve" list. Actually I'm surprised my driveline harmonics issue didn't pop it out.

No. Its in the design of the escutcheon type stamping. Its a washer like device that goes between the steering wheel and the hub adapter and contains the horn device with a snap ring, (may also act as a ground?.
The stamping's I.D. dimension exceeds that of the I.D. of the NRG part by probably 3mm.
So Vince, which screws did you get from McMaster Carr?

I'm in need of M5., and 15mm? Anodized black, countersunk, allens, prefered. Its too hold the wheel onto the NRG part. Couldn't find them at Orchard, and bought some that were 10mm long, but due to the "not seating", there too short. I used the ones from my Grant (but there's only 5 and there not quite the proper thread pitch).

Siegster, did you get the problem solved? i watched your build thread and you've got it solved? well 95%?

Hmm,

Ran the nut down on the Short Hub and the OD of the hub bottoms out on the OD of my new Ididit column.

Is there something that is supposed to go between the hub and the steering shaft base?

Off to go buy a steering wheel puller to get that hub back off.

I had the same problem True. I put a couple of extra C-clips on the splined shaft and it did the trick. Scratching my head on that one too...
