Ahhh.... 5 POINT 7.... not '57... that's where I got thrown off. With your cutting propensity my mind was wandering with the possibilities....

I almost mentioned the blinker lights earlier but wasn't sure how that would go over, they are large.

I like them covered or smaller...

This may be weird too, but on my 05 Sierra it has part chrome, and part body color to break up the mass. Different bumper design, but a thought, here is a link for a try, not real good on my part at thinning it up http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r...ps6983a22d.jpg

Anyhow, I really like this bad ass car.

Joe

Well I've decided that I hate everything I've come up with on the front bumper. So, instead of lighting the car on fire, I walked away, and moved on to something else. Got the last of the bars in, tying the trans tunnel bars to the X in the floor, and the rest of the cage. Somebody really need to take the bender away because this thing has gone crazy (thank goodness its 1 1/4 chromoly, and not mild steel, or this thing would be 4500lbs.). The cool part about this car is the factory dash hides most of the craziness, and I don't care what anybody says tubing is cool.

Not sure why you're obsessing over the bumper - but to each his own. I thought it looked great. And the round turn signals pick up on the round headlights... but what do I know.

Gotta love tubes! I think that skeleton looks fantastic!

Fire up the TIG and get to stickin' fill!

Cut the bottom off the fender and started from the outside and will work my way in. Shaped the new sheetmetal for the fender and installed a lip on the edge. Then made a little skeleton out of 1/4" rod, used the English wheel to crown the skin to the correct shape, and tacked it on. The cool part is that it doesn't have to be perfect, these parts are only going to be used as a plug to made the fiberglass mold off of, so they only need to be tacked together, and mudded up. Not drastically different, but a little cleaner I think.

If I could get more then an hour at a time to work on something, I might get something done.

Very, very tempting offer, but, I've decided when I go to Laguna I'm going to be driving one of my jalopies.
