Default "S71" Olds gets new wheels

...well, not really, but soon!

We've been working with Gary at Steet Smart Classics to help him complete the development of their billet Super Stock II Olds wheel. It seems they are made with a really thick face to mimic the stamped steel Olds SSII wheels, so they're tricky to make - and expensive. However, we think we've got him convinced to move forward with the project.

Here's the final rendering with the new wheels and the redline tires - another "Hermance-terpiece"...

All the videos of the build of this car and the blogs can be found on our site, www.v8tvshow.com.

Very nice. I've always liked those wheels. I'd love to see what they look like "Super Sized".

S71 Update: Tonight, the guys were busy cleaning up the original chassis, grinding sloppy factory welds, adding new welds where needed, and planning for the addition of new steel to strengthen the frame.

We finished the initial chassis boxing and shot the chassis last night. Back to black!

The follow up to the spot welding blog... here's some techniques on plug welding and using a commercially available electrical resistance spot welder on restoration projects.
