A cheap axle swap that is easy to find for 67-68 mustangs is a ford explorer rear. It's the best deal, many came with 3:73 and limited slip, and early ones came with drum brakes others came with factory rear disc. The width is perfect no cutting, you will have to move the axle perchs.

Thanks for the reply. I found out yesterday that the guy I bought the C4 from, also has a rear end out of a 68 Mustang. So that should be a direct bolt in. I am actually leaving to pick it up in about an hour. I will post pics in a few days.
How does this sound for a tire setup? I shouldnt have too many rubbing issues with these sizes.
235 40 17 IN FRONT.
275 40 17 IN REAR.

Welcome back Adam. Sorry to hear about the back issues but it sounds like every thing is headed in a positive direction over all. Can't help with the parts you need but I do like the exhaust you plan on using for the car. Good luck!

T/y
Looks like this 68 rear end will be a direct bolt in. Even the driveshaft fits perfect. But I wont be bolting this into the car until later after we get the car rolling or if the 14" wheels and tires sell.
Sheesh I didnt realize how wide the rear tires were on my 69 Camaro until this pic.

Some interresting results after dropping the engine down last night off the engine stand.
74 Flywheel 14"
74 Torque converter holes 11.5"
68 Flywheel 13"
68 Torque converter holes 10.5"
Soooo the 74 flywheel on the engine will have to be removed. I am going to try the 68 Flywheel and torque converter on Thursday to see if that will bolt up. It that works I will have to try a 68 Starter and hope that will work.
Some more information I found out is that the 67 Tranny I unbolted from the straight 6 would have worked IF I bought a different bell housing. Cant believe how much these 2 trans look alike considering one trans was on a straight 6 and the other was on a 289. Sure seems like they are both C4 trans to me.
This number is on the front of both of them.

Now for pics.

I can only post 14 images so here are the rest.
Spacer plate and toque converter installed. I will reinstall the starter again after the engine and trans are in the car.
Installed poly tranny mount. Will tighten after the install.
Tranny ready to be bolted up after broken bolt is removed from block.
Broken bolt still in block.
