Again, my pleasure guys! I wish I had taken more. I should have been snapping away like crazy at everything good, but I was too busy enjoying the atmosphere. There were some awesome cars here this year, but it was the whole scene that really got me. It's like getting sucked into your TV into a Disney movie where hot rods rule the Earth! I posted on my FB page (from the event) that I must have died, because I was in Heaven!

Todd,

Do you happen to know the following:

1. What won Street Rod of the Year?

2. What Builders were represented in SROY?

3. Did Goodguys do anything there regarding the late Barry Lobeck?

Thanks. Spent a lot of time with Barry over the years in the Marriot Parking Lot!!!

A yellow Ford coupe, I think it was a 32. Honestly, I don't get how it won. Not to take anything away from anyone's hard work, but there were a couple other coupes there that.... Just my worthless opinion though.

Sorry, I wasn't really paying attention to the SROY field, even though it's more my cup of tea. I know one of them (that I would have picked for the winner or the next runner-up) was built by Johnson's Hot Rod Shop. The other one was a black and green coupe. I don't know who the builder was. IIRC, the Hupp car I have pics of in the other thread was in the Top 5. Can't recall the last one?

He was remembered. I heard his name a couple/few times mentioned and credited for his contributions to the hobby/industry. Not sure if there was anything specific or tangible done in his memory.

Thanks, glad you liked them. Where did you see a pic of the yellow 32? Also, you said "one of the Johnson cars", was there more than one JHR car in the Top 5, or in the SROY field? The black JHR 32 I took pictures of was there last year, and back again this year, but I don't think it was entered in the SROY contest. There was a nice coupe that they said was built at JHR, during the SROY/SMOY awards ceremony.

Here's the SROY winner, and Innovator (SMOY). Still looking for pics of the SROY Top 5.
