Cool feature. Mike had told me about the history of the Corvette, but it was cool to hear the backstory about how you guys got started, and know I think I have a better idea as to why you're driving the second gen now.

550 ft lbs? What cubic inch is it?

I will be dyno'ing in the coming weeks at S&S as well... (Watson Racing takes many of their engines to Rick's shop for dynoing I guess).

364 Cubic inches. We are using the same cam. The old motor made over 400 ft/lb at the rear wheels. 550 may be a bit high, but over 500 not a problem.

Congrats on the magazine write-up, well deserved. I think there is something to be said about having the Camaro and the Corvette both featured in magazines.
The engine going back into the Corvette sounds like it's going to be wicked cool. Look forward to seeing the Corvette run with the newly built motor.

Well..... WE'RE WAITING....

Come on Brian! Where's the obligatory dyno sheet!!

You know I love this car. I still remember you running at RTTC and laying down 3 runs back to back within .01 of each other.... Remember? You were trying to break 37. and finally made it! Amazing driving skills!

The Corvette hit the dyno last week and performed very nicely. It made 434 hp to the rear wheels at 6800 RPM. That is about a 40 HP gain and peak power went from the old of 6400 to the new of 6800. The torque peak was just about the same as the old motor, about 400 to the rear wheels. The curve is much flatter than the old motor. Redline went from a limted 7000 RPM to 7500 RPM. The intenal parts will allow us to do this with no problem. We lowered the compression a full point to allow us to run pump gas. This cost us some HP. Overall, it should be a very well rounded motor that we can beat on for years to come.

This was a great week for me and my Dad. With the Corvette back running we ran two autocross days this weekend. The car ran great. The power is just about perfect. The car is handling great and about to get better!

Wilwood Disc Brakes and I are going to join forces again to compete in the 2013 Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational. Here is what was posted on their Facebook page:

Wilwood is very pleased to announce that Brian Hobaugh will be representing Wilwood Disc Brakes at the 2013 Optima Batteries Ultimate Street Car Invitational in his 1965 Corvette Stingray wide-body. Stay tuned into our Facebook page for a feature video soon.

I took some photos of the car and took a few with my Camaro.
